  1. They won't compare to a glass boat, but the only aluminum I would trade my champion for is an Xpress. The closest thing you can get to a high performance aluminum bass boat. Everything else in my opinion is a pimped out jon boat. They are nice and I love the tritons, G3's, crestliners. They are all nice, but IMO Xpress is the way to go.
  2. I don't think spiderwire is crappy. its all I have spooled on and I love it. Just don't like the invisable crap. I can't remember the last time I've lost a fish becuase of my line.
  3. I like spiderwire, but I don't go above 50lb test and I use that for frog fishing. I use 20 and 30lb primarily and I agree the invisibraid isn't invisible to our eyes. its just white. I also noticed a difference in a new spool of 30lb. I replaced some old from probably 2 or more years ago and the new I put on seems thicker and less flexible. Anyone else notice this with new spools of spiderwire?
  4. The vibrashock is just about the only bait I use anymore. Generally I just straight reel it in and various speeds, but my friend has been fishing them out the back of the boat with a crawdad trailer and has been yo-yoing them off the bottom with alot of luck. I have caught a few fish on the vibraspin, but I catch so many on the vibrashock its hard for me keep using a bait I don't have much confidence in. The vibraspin in my opinion is a little big, but I usually use smaller profile baits.
  5. Karu Lures are the real deal guys. The componets are top notch and the customer service is even better. The jigs are great and the vibraspins work good around here especially if you are looking for something that bass haven't ever seen before. A little tip Karl gave. Is to heat the blades with a mini torch to turn them gold, but don't over do it cause they will eventually turn black, but if you want gold blades or something different give it a try. P.S. It only works on steel blades.
  6. I tow my boat with a 2002 f-150 2wd and with a 4.3L. It gets awesome gas mileage with the large V6 and I have no problems pulling the boat out unless the ramp is very steep and wet. I've pulled it out of unpaved ramps with this truck on a rainy day and no problems. The gas mileage of the is huge for guys like me that pull there boats a long way
  7. THe only way to go is Parasite weights. The screw in ruins your bait and when you peg it with a toothpick the toothpick swells up and then your sinker is ruined. Parasite keeps it pegged and doesn't let your plastic fall off.
  8. So are you implying that Karu Jigs are for beginners. Totally custom jigs with the best quality products available. If you can think it. He can make it. Doesn't sound beginner to me.
  9. I'll second that. ;D They make awesome swim jigs as well. Here is a pic of a poisontail jig.
  10. I saw them on lindners angling edge I believe. They look awesome. Kind of like an extreme walk the dog. I plan on trying them as well.
  11. I've fished with the orginal chatterbait and a few other imitations and I can honestly say that the Karu Lures vibrashock absolutely blows them out of the water. My hook up ratio's went up two fold to the point where I don't think I missed any fish and It's because the blade hits the head which not only attracts the fish, but the fish key in on this sound and hit the head of the bait instead of the tail which increases your hook ups. The bait has a ton of vibration that calls in fish from a long ways away and the quality of the paint and hooks is second to none. The blades won't bend like the original ones either and there is no wrong way to fish this bait. Cast it out and reel it in. Plus Karu can pretty much custom make any color your mind can think of. They are also a site sponsor so you'll be doing the site a favor as well. www.karulures.com If you like chatterbaits, check out there vibraspin as well. Brings a whole new twist to spinnerbaits.
  12. Nice looking boats everybody. I like the jet tracker. I tried getting y buddy to buy one, but he just bought a regular tracker. I had to buy my own gradution present. Bought her 3 days after I graduated high school.
  13. that shouldn't be to bad I would recomennd cutting some off at the bottom if it seems like there is a lot. A good idea came up in the newest bassmaster. Cut all the fibers off and install a screw lock at the tie end of the bait. screw your trailer on to it and then stick your hok through and stick the tip back into the bait like you are texas rigging it. I can't wait to try it
  14. you are absolutely right I would not want someone representing my company who did not actuallyusm products owon them. I have used a some essox rods howevere I don't know if they were carbon fiber. It was a few years ago. I was merely trying to explain to someone that pro-staffing isn't about. Just making money in fact you will most likely pay more than what will actually be given to you. I loved the essox rods and that is why I contacted them. However I could not affford to buy 5 of their rods at full price in fact I plan on contacting them again in a few years to get some rods. They make a great product, but beingin school I wasn't paying that.
  15. Check out the Parasite weights sweet shakey head I like the over the spot remover because of the screw head. I like to use a strike king 3X finesses worm simply because it floats and is super soft.
  16. The parasite weight and clip really are unbelievable. After using it one time I'm sure you'll be convinced. Your bait won't bunch up or slide down after a sharp jerk or in mid cast and as far as pegging the weight they are second to none as well. I'm sure everyone has stuck a toothpick in the end, after you cut the line the weight is no longer usable because you can't hardly stick the line through because the wood toothpick has swelled up inside the weight and screw on weights simply just ruin and tear up the end of your plastics. Parasite is the only way to go.
  17. After reading this entire thread. Everyone has some very good points. One I would like to make to people who may not know is that lure companies aren't going to just throw money at somebody unless maybe they are pro's who regularly get on TV. After getting a sponsor its a lot of work and usually you actually have to buy so much of that companies product to get into the pro-staff, sometimes several hundred dollars and after that you only get money or free lures buy establishing sales lead to sales rep and generating sales. For instance my parasite pro-staff for the first 300 I sell I get 30 dollars of product. When I get sales of at least 1000 I get another 25.00 in product and at 2500 dollars of sales I get a tourney shirt and I am required to work 8 hours at a store promoting the product each year or one show. Its not all fun and games and it might end up costing you more in the long run. I was contacted by essox fishing rods and in order to be a pro-staff I had to buy somewhere between 3 and 5 rods, I don't remember, but each rod cost a couple hundred dollars. My advice to youngsters is go to college and get a degree for plan b.
  18. I bought one of the original chatterbaits at a Gander Mountain when they went on sale and had absolutely no luck with them and did not use them for the longest time. I got a Karu Lures Vibrashock(same thing different design) and you can really tell the difference. The blade hits the head wich makes a tick-tick-tick the whole way back to the boat that draws fish from a long ways and helps them home in on it. I started catching a lot of fish and it soon became the only bait I would throw. Just an awesome bait and nothing has even come close.
  19. I like to carry a small socket set, prop wrench several sizes of philips and flat head screw drivers, a couple pairs of pliers, spare prop, spare trolling motor with plug already wired so all you have to do is pull the old one out and put the spare in and plug it in.( they fit pretty well in spare rod locker) and everything else bassnleo said. best of luck to you
  20. Nope mine is the two wheel drive with the 4.3L Mostly for pulling the boat and driving to work it gets about 20 everyday and about 15-16 pulling the boat. My hunting truc however 1984 f-150 4 wheel drive 351 granny 4 speed gets about 8 if I'm lucky.
  21. Here's mine. 93 champ with 93 175 johnson faststrike. I bought it right after I graduated last year. My tow vehicle is a 2002 f-150.
  22. I don't know about how well it works where you are from, but up here. It is absolutely deadly in the pre-spwan. I fish it just like a spinnerbait sometimes I will also use a lift rod tip...reel up slack...lift rod tip...reel up slack method back to the boat.
  23. Here is my first boat I payed 7500 for it. Bass trackers are rreally nice boats, but for aluminum I think an Express is hard to beat. You can get a eally nice boat in the price range you are looking for. I would say if you want a bigger faster boat go for it, but find someone locally that knows what they are doing and have them take you out and show you how to properly drive it and then once you get behind the wheel take it easy its scary at first, but take your time and learn how the boat handles and then slowly work your way to full throttle.
  24. OK so maybe I'm weird, because I like to fish in the rain, but not only that I like to fish at noon on about a 90 degree today. Hot as you know where, but I love watching those monsters bust through the matted grass and inhale my frog. The next best thing to that would be punchin the mat and yanking a 10 pounder out. Well 2 or 3, but we're counting the weeds to. ;D
  25. Who would you want to contact about getting a sponsorship. I read earlier that you want to contact the right person. So lets say I wanted to contact rapala for a sponsorship, I went to the investor relations and these are the three people you can contact Olli Aho(investor relations), Rapala VMCC corporation or the CFO. Not saying I'm going to I just want to know who the person is that is best likely to recieve your information and respond to it. Thanks
