lets see it... Biggest swimbait fish
I have never caught a fish on a swimbait. Going to try and learn them this year.

2004 tr 20x
Most champions don't chine walk as well as rangers. Tritons are notorious for it because of the design of the hull, but thats what makes them faster. 80 probably not, but 75 is possible with a pro XS and low 70's with the original opti.

Think Tank Triggerfish
what are they chargin? I saw this video last year sometime and still have not seen anything come out. What are they waiting for?

Paca Craw presentation
The paca craw is an amazing bait. I catch a ton of fish on it. Mostly texas rigged, but I have also done well as a jig trailer and a shakey head bait. They are very versatile and the paca craw accounted for a couple tournament wins for me last year.

What Were Your Top 3 Baits for 2010?
1. Karu lures vibrashock 2. Netbait paca craw 3. spro bronzeye frog Every tournament that I won or finished well in was because of those 3 lures and 90% of the time it was the only 3 lures I had on the deck of my boat. A swim jig was very close to being in there also, but I just have to give the edge to the pacacraw. I won numerous tournaments on it and the swim jig even though I caught a lot of fish on it, never accounted for a tournament win.

Swim Jigs- Tail up or Tail Down
up or down I don't think it matters as long as it isn't sideways.

Worm fishing during the pre spawn?
I knew they hated lizards, but never thought about shakey heading a lizard so it nosed down in a bed. Great tip.

hp-speed
I have always been told as a general rule of thumb that 5hp will get you 1MPH faster. So you'll likely lose around 5mph. but like others have said, you'll notice the loss in your holeshot, but if your propped correctly you should still be alright.

ShakE2 + Hag Tornado
Can't wait to hear your review. I'm just getting started on shakey heading and think the hags tornado looks awesome and its something I want to try.

Where is all the Pfleuger and Quantum??
Pflueger is all I use and I love all of them. The patriarch is one of the best reels on the market IMO.

Karu Vibrashock
Heck yeah. Nice fish. I've caught more 4-5lb fish, which are pretty solid fish around here, on the vibrashock than any other bait in my box. My favorite colors are the blue shimmer cotton candy and the black cherry. The blue shimmer cotton candy is outstanding. It looks plain on the website, but drop it in the water and the skirt almost changes colors to blue. Its their top seller and the number 1 for clear water in my boat.

Anyone ever use one of these?
that looks crazy. I wouldn't necessarily call the originals a dud. I've had good success with them. I find the action similar to a scrounger and it works well for fishing near the surface of pads and such.

Chatterbait type baits
I fish it with a crawdad trailer quiet often on a karu vibrashock. Not usually flipping laydowns, but I like to throw it to rocks, let it sink and then rip it off the bottom a few feet and let it sink and just take that retrieve back. It looks like a craw fleeing.

how would you fish this
THe river has come up several feet and the backwater areas that had 2 feet of milfoil to the surface now has milfoil 6" below the surface in 4-5ft of water. Can't fish it with a frog and its the entire backwater area. I can see fish spooking off occasionaly so I know there is bass in there, I just think all the bigger ones are underneath of it and there is so much area to cover.

Karu Vibrashock
you made a great purchase. The vibrashock is my go to bait. I was fishing an ABA tournament a few weeks ago and my non-boater described it as a chatterbait on steroids. ;D and its true! The way the dart around is unbelievable. Its not like any other chatterbait on the market today and I will be willing to say it will outfish and outlast everyone of them. It doesn't have cheap aluminum blades. It has stainless steel blades that will not bend.

Favorite topwater frog?
I love the spro's, but I just made an order to tackle warehouse for the bose sumo frog, ish's phat frog and the tru tungsten mad maxx frog and they all look like great frogs. For soft plastics I like yum buzzfrogs and some other frogs from a custom company called hawgpours. I like rage tails, but they have more of a splashing sound. The ones from hawgpours have more of a bubbleing sound.

Baitcaster and bottom contact rod need - under $400??
I'd go with a 7'0 MH Fast action citrus stick. Its one of the lightest and most sensitive rods on the market at a lower price then other rods at 155$. Then I would put a 7.1:1 pflueger patriarch XT on it. Now you have one of the smoothest, lightest, sensitive set ups you could imagine and under 400$

Go To baits for thick/clumpy weeds and grass?
a swimming jig would be a good bait to try depending on how thick you are talking. I like a 1/4 ounce bullet head with a 4" curly tail grub trailer.

Which One Patriach XT or Revo Primier
patriarch hands down. Only plus to the revo might be the drag, but the patriarch can have an upgraded drag system very easily. On a side note. The finish on the patriarch is very very durable, but don't leave it in a rod locker that is moist for a long time. The moisture can ruin the finish, its still the same finish, just changes the color alittle bit.

Caught a few fish in my new boat.
THe last couple days have been slow. The condition are perfect for a big fish bite, but I think it warmed up so fast(15* in a week) that the fish haven't adjusted. I caught 3 dinks yesterday and today was looking dismall as well. I decided to try 1 more spot before leaving. I pulled up to an island in the middle of a shallow lake and my 3rd pitch got me a 4.5-5lb fish. After a few quick pics and some hooting and hollering I let her go and made a pitch to the next tree and nabbed another 5lb fish. :dance01: only 2 bites of the day, but they were worth it. This boat scoots to. I hit 68.5 with 2 guys and full tourney load. I ran out of calm water, but I think it had more. both fish caught on a black and blue pro model flipping jig with a bassmagnet flappin craw dipped in JJ's magic.

How do you organize your plastics?
I think they keep longer in the original packaging, so I put all of mine in zop lock baggies and I write whats in the bag on the outside and I keep them all in a tote that I bought at walmart for a couple of bucks. I have buzzfrogs, crawdad trailers, senkos, tubes everything seperated. Just reach in grab the bag I want and then I may have to do some looking to find the right color or brand.

ugly braid
thanks guys, what a downer. I'm going to try it anyway, hopefully I don't lose a big musky to it. I've been a hardcore spiderwire stealth and power pro guy for awhile now, just had a good deal on the ugly braid. I haven't tried the fireline braid yet, but may give it a try.

ugly braid
Anybody try this stuff before? I bought some from overstock bait and tackle for pretty cheap. I got the 65lb test for my muskie rod and I was pleasantly surprised at the braid at first glance. Seems well made, I'm thinking about getting some 30lb for my bass rods, but want to hear some reviews on it before I spend the money. Otherwise i'll just stick with spiderwire stealth.

Best USA made rod...
Citrus stick. Handmade in lebanon TN, the only component not american made is the guides. 155$ with a liftetime warranty and as far as I have seen, they are the lightest rods on the market in the 150$ range.

Pflueger Summit reel?
Great reel IMO. Its light, smooth, casts good and fits in the palm well. Its also very durable. I think I bought mine the first year they came out and still have and it still works like new. Only downfall is the 7.1 gear ratio. I wish they would have offered something else.
