  1. Last two seasons I have been finding alot of success with crankbaits, its become one of my confidence baits. I throw light cranks mostly squarebills and other shallow cranks. The 1.5 is about as big as I like to go, 1.0 size is my sweet spot. My question is I am about to purchase a new rod to dedicate for cranking and just wondering if a glass rod would be more beneficial with the small shallow cranks or would a moderate action graphite rod be better. Thanks in advance
  2. stopped into DSG and found a few things. Couple packs of dream shots, baby rage craws, some mini lizards, fineness worms, z drops, a dt6, 3 husky jerks, a x-rap, and a sexy dawg
  3. If I remember correctly the rage swimmers are a good bit different, the ribs on the rage swimmers go opposite the others like towards the head. The keitech have such good action at slow speeds they are tough to beat. I will give the rage swimmers a try I haven't been disappointed by a rage product yet .
  4. WalMart spinner baits are killers. Buy them 5-6 at a time though they tear up pretty easy. I'm not scared to throw them anywhere like I am more expensive spinnerbaits, probably why they work so well.
  5. Mostly will find natural colors for me, green pumpkin, watermelon especially watermelon red, black and okechobee craw. Occasionally I have a odd color or two like a cotton candy lizard is a killer for me. My cranks and hard baits about the same, lots of bluegill and ghost minnow with some odd colors mixed in.
  6. 11 bags of zoom lizards and super flukes, WalMart had some bags on clearance I cleaned out all the colors I use.
  7. Thanks for all the ideas good stuff here. I don't mind carrying a 3700 box I carry one now so I'm leaning to one of the bass mafia boxes. The modified Plano is interesting, I have a tone of extra ones laying around I think ill try it and see how I like it. Thanks again everyone
  8. I'm looking for a good solution to keep my terminal tackle organized, standard boxes are just not working nothing stays in its place. I'm mostly a shore fisherman for now so boxes tend to get jostled around a bit. The bass mafia terminal coffin looks good but i can't bring myself to spend 55 dollars on a box. What are you guys using?
  9. strike king sexy dawg Jr or a live target frog
  10. Really trying to learn the finesse side so I picked up some terminal tackle for the mojo rig and drop shot, some shakey head jigs, black trickworms and some flukes. Now to make myself tie them on and use them!
  11. I have fished spros since they came out and I love them but recently the booyah pad crasher has been my fancy. If the livetarget ones with a black bottom were more readily available they would probably be my go to but I can't seem to find them.
  12. MisplacedTexan99 posted a topic in Introductions
Hello there everyone been lurking the forums for a long time and I guess I should go ahead and introduce myself. I have been fishing pretty much my entire life from chasing big bream as a kid to now chasing the bucket mouths as an adult. I grew up fishing in East Texas now due to some unfortunate family issues I am fishing here in central Missouri. Let me tell you they don't grow them here in Missouri like they do back home but it's still a thrill. I fished a few tournaments back in Texas but now I'm just beating the banks for fun. I have a lot to learn about fishing the Midwest and look for learning from you guys. God bless and tight lines!
  13. Top 3 would have to be a hollow body frog, rapala skitter pop, and the Sammy style walkers
  14. Might look at the storm arashi waking crank and the yammamoto chickara wake bait. Both are available at tackle warehouse and come in the chartreuse black back. Also if the lucky craft lc wake if you want something a little different.
  15. One really good tip that is really working for me is to let the fish take it reel up the slack and give a hard upward hookset instead of a sweeping hookset to the side. It's made a lot of difference for me. There is nothing like a blowup on a frog I love it!
