Just got back from the show and loved it. I caught some trout in the trout pond they had there. Listened to a seminar by Mike Iaconelli and picked up a bunch of soft plastics.

I live in a town outside of newark,Ohio.

Too bad. My parents are letting me cash a 50$ bond from my aunt to go spend on a new rod at the show. :)

Here in ohio you only have to register a boat if it is over 10 hp ;D ;D regardless of gas or electric.

My parents will agree to a kayak since it gives me a work out. So is there a good fishing kayak new for around 250$ that is better than the old town otter.

Well I don't have a lot of wood so I looked on craigslist and found a nice jon boat for 250 half the price of the bass hunter.

Well than what do you suggest. I have 2 4'x4' boards to make the floor.

It will actually come to about five feet since the front is like a jon boat. I expect to work for about 3-4 days on completion. If you guys know how to make it more water tight please let me know.

I am making a wooden jon boat like this. The bottom will be 4' long and 2 feet wide. It will have a flat back and an 8" slanted board at the front. It will have one regular fishing seat. I just want to know how to make it sea worthy.

I casted into a 1' deep pool of water that is sitting ontop of the ice that covers my pond.

Does that thing even float?

I am 13 and I rarely ever bring a 2 rods with me. I also use poles of up to 6'6" since I prefer spinning outfits.

Good news. I presented both the sea eagle se-6 fishermans dream package and bass hunter to my dad he said we could definatly get the sea hawk and there is still a good chance that the Bass Hunter could prevail. If I get my mom who is always the tougher sell than I will have my own rig by next month.
