  1. Rod: St. Croix Mojo bass 7' MH coming in next week ;D Reel: Shimano Citica 201D Bait: Strike King kevin vandam jig Gets em every time :)
  2. Just got this an hour ago. My scale comes in next week so I have no idea what the weight is. Any guesses? :-?
  3. Big lures or sometimes a weedless jig right through the heaviest cover. Make sure you have strong line if you do this.
  4. Cause you have the magic touch.
  5. I am throwing jigs, weighted and non-weighted worms, spinnerbaits, shallow cranbaits 1-3', and assorted soft plastics.
  6. I just got my first bass. The pond had thawed out so I thought I would go out and test my new reel. Well I was fishing my go to lure and I get a tug on my line. I bring in a nice 3 lber. I was so happy I held my rod above my head and ran all the way back to my house while screaming "I got one, I got one". Needless to say today is a very happy day. What about you guys?
  7. Would that be able to handle soft swimbaits?
  8. I am looking for a rod that will be able to fish many different baits. I will put a Shimano Citica D on it. I am looking at a 7' m of the St. Croix Mojo, Team Daiwa Pro Series Bass Trigger Rods, or Falcon Original Series. All opinions appreciated.
  9. There is 6" of snow on the ground and more arriving every second. The only thing you guys would catch here might be a penguin. :D
  10. This is great I go to it every year and love it. Good deals and good seminars. Mike Iaconelli was there last year. http://www.hartproductions.com/columbus-sports-vacation-and-boat-show/
  11. Micro let it go. He made his choice. Anyway I think Shimano wins since they have their own sub forum. ;D
  12. This is a good explanation for that itch to buy the most expensive thing I can find. ;D ;D ;D I plan on being very "frugal" at the boat and fishing show next month. :D
  13. The only places I fish everyday are 2 golf course ponds where you are sometimes limited to one side. If a party is in the middle of the bank the farthest you can get is a good 15' so I am always sure to make friends with the people and just leave them be. I catch so many fish they usually just leave anyway but sometimes I have to go to to the other pond to avoid a scene.
  14. Jigging spoons or spinnerbaits will be best. They will put out a big flash and they will get down deep enough.
  15. Congrats I have heard great things about them.
  16. Shimano hands down. I could never betray my Citica D.
  17. 1. Fish a tourny 2. learn to fish a swimbait 3. catch 5 fish in 5 casts
  18. What works best for you? I personally like a white shad with green stripes my friend gave me a year back. I got one the first cast then lost the lure the next. ;D ;D ;D The pattern can be on a soft or hard bait.
  19. Which color do you guys think would be the most versatile. Need answer asap as I am planning on buying one tonight.
  20. Welcome. I think the rod alpster put is a great rod for what you need but you should probably use a low profile baitcaster that has good cast control. This http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_103926_100001001_100000000_100001000_100-1-1 or this http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_98401_100001001_100000000_100001000_100-1-1 I have heard great things about both reels.
  21. Im with you hjerk. I have to read it like once a month. ;D ;D ;D
  22. Teespoon, congrats on your find but I think if you want to fish the money you would put into making that fishable is better spent on something like a jon boat.
  23. I fish mixed waters a lot of the time. For the king shad I was thinking about maybe the sexy shad. For the x rap I just realized I already have one so now I guess my money is going to just a swimbait.
  24. You'd need at least 10 hooks to catch any bass with that sucker.
  25. How many of you guys have read this book. I think this is a must read for any bass fisherman. Shaw gives you tons of good tips while also telling the story of his life. I give it 2 thumbs up.
