  1. I personally think the problem is the way our society treats other people as a whole. Its just trickling over into competitive sports. People just don't seem as freindly to each other any more. People aren't as friendly at the check out counter, at the local gas station, you name it. Common courtesy is going down the tubes. Next time you are at the mall say high to someone randomly and see what happens. I bet they look at you like your some kind of pervert, or weirdo or maybe even with discussed. > In todays society being rude or unfriendly isn't as looked down on as it once was. SMILE, lifes to short to be a sour apple.
  2. Honestly, by looking at the pictures, I can't tell what the heck that thing is. It doesn't look like a bear thats for sure. I certainly don't believe in Bigfoot. Looks to me like the guy had his kid dress up like a monkey and run by his trail Cam a couple times. Someday if I find a trail cam in the woods, I'd like to do something like that.hehehehe
  3. Had tons of luck fishing rivers for walleyes trolling #7 shad raps and wally divers. You need a crank bait that will track good in strong current, Rapalas will do that, not many others will. Husky jerks, original floaters, shallow shad raps are all good river walleye baits. Pike will also hit cranks with regularity, just use brighter colors(firetiger, chartuese). Get your lure about 120 ft (give or take 20ft) behind the boat and start trolling up likely shorelines.
  4. What are you fishing? Lakes, Rivers? How deep? Weeds, rock bottom, open water? Your post is a little vague. I little more info will help in answering your question.
  5. I must be missing some of these negative posts and posters you guys are talking about. From what I have seen the members on this board do a heck of job treating each other with respect. The Mods on this site are doing a heck of job also. I'm a member of a lot of other fishing and hunting sites and this out classes them by leaps and bounds. I believe it all has to do with the moderaters, what they tolerate and what not. There is nothing wrong with friendly disagreements but name calling and insulting other members opinions just because they don't agree with you isn't friendly and shouldn't be tolerated IMO. It all depends on what kind of site you want to run.
  6. Looks fake. And I bet it is.
  7. Oh and please release all musky you catch! You'll be glad you did. They aint that good eating anyway, actually I think they are poisonous.
  8. Get a musky rod and reel combo with 60 to 80 lb braid. (your gonna need it to throw these heavy lures. Bass fishing gear won't work. Wait till you have a little more experience to target spring musky. There hard to catch even for the veterans of the sport. Once the water temps hit the 65 degrees mark hit the water. Hit weed flats that have deep water near by(the bigger the flat the better). Throw bucktails in black(hair) and chrome(blade) and large minnow baits twitched over the tops of weeds. As the summer progresses look for a combination of weeds and rocks(deadly). Weeds alone still produce tons of fish all year long. Bucktails, 8 inch Jerbaits, and huge Topwaters(prop style). Fish a lake known to have a good population of skies. Don't make it any harder on yourself than you have to. Musky fishing ain't for the weak hearted let me clue you. Don't plan on catching a lot of fish because you won't. If you want to catch a lot of fish, musky fishing ain't for you. Fish prime times, sunup and sundown. You looking for that one good bite. When it happens be prepared to change your life style. 20$ baits aint easy on the pocket book. All it will take is that one follow from a 50 inch musky and you'll be hooked. If that don't make your knees shake I don't know what will. GOOD LUCK BRO!
  9. Awsome lure! No doubt.
  10. I can't imagine why a pro fisherman would want that reputation. If I was a sponser of Clausen's that would be the end. I wouldn't want my product associated with that kind of character. Bad taste. I have a feeling that action will come back to haunt Clausen. Talk about sowing bad seed.
  11. Rattling Rapala's! Rapala just make awsome lures. It doesn't matter if its a skitter pop, the original floater, shad raps. There all awsome.
  12. I use the natural worm color. The ones that I am talking about come in a tangled mess in a little jar. I use half at a time. I'm pretty sure the ones in a bag do just as well.
  13. There is definately something about Gulp! worms. I haven't used them much for bass but have a lot for walleyes. I hardly ever use real nightcrawlers anymore and have a feeling that pretty soon I won't be using the real thing at all anymore. When ever I'm fishing with someone using real nightcrawlers I use Gulp! And Gulp has out fished the real ones many times. At times by a sizeable margin.
  14. A steel leader is a must. Spoons, spinner baits and rattle traps in flashy colors like chartuese are deadly pike lures. Floating rapalas and husky jerks in firetiger are awsone. Mepps inline spinners in #3 & #4 in firetiger color are also great lures(with the hair).
  15. They are a very versatile lure. You can really fish them whatever way you want. You can start reeling as soon as it hits the water or wait till it hits the bottom depending on what depth you want to fish. For a retreive I give it 3 or 4 fast cranks of the reel pause, 3 or 4 fast cranks, pause etc, etc, etc. Your definately gonna need some muskie sized tackle. Good lures!
  16. With hair or without?
  17. I recently read that inline spinners are deadly for smallies. I have used them with some success I was just wondering what colors do most people throw and what produces the best for them. Chrome blades? Chartuese blades? Thanks, Boon
  18. I believe the scientific term for fish balls is "gonads". I may be wrong.
  19. I bought a ton of football head jigs in the bargain bin years ago(still have plenty), then bought some skirts seperate for them. They're not weedless but the hooks are thin enough to straiten using 14lb braid when you snag up. Rarely loose them and they catch fish like crazy.
  20. Thanks for the replys! Just the answers I was looking for. This is the reason I love this website.
  21. So its a little early for in the year for early morning bass?
  22. My question is when do you guys start using topwaters? What water temperature? I live in North Dakota and the water temps hit the high 50's maybe 60 on a really nice day as of late. On a normal day they are low 50's to mid 50's.The bass haven't been real active either. I'm thinking they are in their prespawn mode. Is it to early for topwaters? Would early mornings be better or should I wait till the water heats up during midday. Thanks in advance. :-/
  23. Don't know. Never caught a 10lber.
  24. I fish it slow and steady on cloudy days, early mornings, late evenings, and am gonna try some night fishing this year with them. Love this lure.
