  1. I agree with the last two posts. Drink alot of liquids, a lot of protein, and heres the one that helped me the most - CARBS. Never slack on the carbs if you are trying gain weight and strength. Its a matter of finding the right diet to match your metabolism. For some protein might be the answer. Others carbs. Everyones a little different.
  2. I think this would be an excellent idea. Maybe throw in a few amatures.
  3. How come the Lindner boys no longer seem to have any affiliation with this magazine any more? Did they just sell the rights to it or something along those lines? It seems now Doug Stange is pulling the ropes. I have nothing against Doug Stange but I would much rather hear what the Lindner boys have to say.
  4. I'll second that for #1. Wiggle warts and rattl traps come in second seeing a lot of water time.
  5. I have no problems with the pros and how they do what they do. Not by any means. But after reading this thread it got me thinking a little. Wouldn't it be interesting to see what a group of pros would do if thown on a lake that none of them are familiar and see how well they do. Then throw in just as many average Joes that are also unfamiliar with the lake and see what happens. That would be interesting to see the results.
  6. On SPIKE TV last night they interveiwed Liddel and Coture. Sounds like Liddel wants a rematch with Rampage. Which I'm sure he will get. Can't wait to see that. Randy Coture(spelling) will be coming out of retirment to fight Tim Sylvia. This should be a good fight. I hope Randy crushes him.
  7. Everyone gets skunked. Even the pros.
  8. The seimese pike link doesn't seem to be working.
  9. siemese pike I think this is a hoax. The two fish are on a rope stringer. The first (smaller) fish was put on the stringer first and wedged itself in the gill of the second bigger fish put on the stringer. The link above is from another forum where this picture was discussed.
  10. I'm with Jim Blair on this one. Flatulence is the reason for global warming. And I'm a big contributer to it. Hey, I can't help it. I eat a lot of cabbage.
  11. Love Gulp! baits. Use them a lot with great success. Work great for walleyes also. Heck, I even eat a bag every now and then.
  12. GSP will spank Serra. I like Serra. I just don't think he has a prayer.
  13. I caught a pike once that had a pretty weird deformity. Half its mouth was grown shut. When I caught it, it looked pretty sickly. I decided to perform surgery on it amd cut it open the rest of the way with a knife. I ended up catching the same fish again about a month later and the fish looked very healthy and its mouth healed over nicely.
  14. I had to chuckle a little when you mentioned the ole black/silver husky jerk. When I put the waders on in the spring that is my go to bait for Missouri River walleyes up north. The cranks always catch the bigger fish when it comes to river walleyes. Nice Fish!!!!! You mounting that fish?
  15. Very nice pike!
  16. That first lure will attract a lot of the bait monkeys(craw/shad). Including me. That is one cool looking lure. Probably catch more fisherman than fish. I'll buy one of them even if they don't catch fish. Hang it on my rearview mirror or something.
  17. I must be the only one that thinks Tito beat Forest in that fight. I thought Tito crushed him that first round, BIG TIME. Forest did come back, but He didn't do enough damage to win the fight. If it would have went two more rounds I think Forest would have beat him. I would love to see a rematch between RAMPAGE and Liddel. RAMPAGE made it look way to easy their first fight. My moneys on Rampage. Would like to see Mileninko(spelling) cross over to the UFC. He would dominate even more so than Cro-Cop. If I remember correctly he beat Cro-Cop at one time. The UFC needs some new faces for sure. Especially in the heavy weight division.
  18. Good post Rocknfish. Although I'm gonna have to disagree with one point. Thats the one about walleyes not being in weeds. Weeds are actually an excellent place to find walleyes under the right circumstances. If the baitfish are in the weeds, and they usually are, the walleyes won't be far behind. I do probably 50% of my walleye fishing in the weeds and flooded timber. Not so much in rivers, but in natural lakes you WILL find walleyes in the weeds. If you are fishing natural lakes or impoundments, never overlook the weeds.
  19. Mille Lacs, Minnesota for musky. Hopefully very soon.
  20. Are they a good smallmouth bait also?
  21. Boy, I'd love to know the answer to that. All I know is I catch a ton of fish on firetiger colored lures every year. Doesn't matter if its bass, both large and small, walleyes, and pike. In all types of weather conditions and water conditions. Its hard to deny the effectiveness of this color.
  22. I just went to Doug's website and checked out some of his videos. On one of the videos he is using a top water snake. I have never seen this lure used or talked about before seeing this video. Never seen it in a store either. Anyone ever use this lure? Looks like it has awsome action. Looks like they would even be good musky baits as big as they come. Any opinions or comments?
  23. I fish a power plant reseviour(spell check) in North Dakota in the dead of winter of a little over 500 acres. It never freezes. It has very stained water and has absolutely no cover as far as weeds, docks, or sunken trees whatsoever. On the west side of the lake is fairly shallow where the warm water discharge is, and the east side has a max depth of about 30 ft with a lot of rocks along the dam and some other good sections of rock and good dropoff areas also on the east side. I looking for some opinions on how you guys would approach fishing this lake. Would you fish the warm water discharge on the west or the rocks and structure on the east where the water is considerably colder? The warmwater discharge seems to attract some bait fish in terms of small bass, bluegill, and some crappie at the mouth, but its a small area. I would assume the rocks and structure on the east side would also have to attrack some baitfish, but the water is so much colder. Where would you guys fish? The east or the west side? And how would you fish it? What techniques?
