  1. I'll stick to hunting and fishing.
  2. 320.4 with some serious skipping. Very cool.
  3. I was just watching ESPN this morning and am wondering why the Bass Pros never use nets in their tournaments when landing fish? I have even seen them lose fish where if they had a net they would have landed the fish. Is it illegal? Or whats the deal? Anyone know?
  4. Call me an idiot, but what do the numbers in the gray rectangles represent. :-?
  5. Very cool.
  6. MERRY CHRISTMAS AND PRAISE JESUS!
  7. 1-rapala skitter pop in frog pattern 2-buzzbait with yellow and white skirt 3-jitterbug
  8. He never specifically said the best BASS lure, but maybe thats what he meant. If he means the best lure of any kind of fish ever, I'd have to say the MEPPS spinner, then the original floating RAPALA. If he's talking bass, I'll bet its the plastic worm.
  9. I'm a big fan of wiggle warts, the regular sized ones, don't have any Mags. I doubt there is much of a difference. But yea, I'v had excellent luck with them on smallies. I don't see why they wouldn't work for largies. The trick for me with any crank has always been to run it into what ever cover you are fishing, be it weeds, wood, rock, or just the bottom. Love fishing cranks in weeds. Run the lure down into the weeds, pause with a little slack, jiggle, rip, repeat.
  10. That is hilarious! I wonder what the kid did? That deer looked a little PO'ed.
  11. About Fishbear's original post: AWSOME!!! We definately take life for granted here in the good ole US of A.
  12. Had the same problem. :-?
  13. Do you have a set of waders? Wading out in the current and working husky jerks or floating Rapalas in the current at dawn and dusk is deadly for walleyes on the Missouri River where I live. Another technique that we use a lot goes like this - hook a good sized sinker(depends on the current) on your line above a swivel snap, make sure the sinker slides up and down your line, then take a gum drop floater tied to about two feet of mono as a leader and attach that to your snap, put the pole in a rod holder with a bell on it and wait for a bite while your pitching jigs or casting cranks. We catch tons of walleyes doing this. Good Luck
  14. Hey Rocknfish, you ever think about using Gulp! plastics. Alot of wallys have been caught on Gulp! grubs. Just a suggestion.
  15. Excellent advice. Once again thanks alot fellas. So when do topwaters come into play in the spring. I understand that nothing is written in stone when it comes to fishing. Just looking for maybe a water temp when they start producing a little better. 8-)
  16. I know it may be a little early for this, but where I live the lakes have about a foot of ice on them so I gots to start preparing myself, taking a few notes, and come up with a game plan for next year. I was curiuos to know what lures, retrieves, water temps, depths and area of the lake(back bays, emergent weeds, etc.etc) you fellas use to catch bass during the pre-spawn. Any tips or helpful hints would be awsome. Thanks a ton. Must be nice fishing open water year round. Lucky Buggers.
  17. I've been hearing alot about how good a jerkbait is in the fall. Wondering what you fellas do differently in the fall compared to spring as far as how you work the bait, pauses, jerks, sizes, etc.etc. :)
  18. I would also have to say that considering the small size of the pond(5 acres) and fairly shallow water that a 10 ft jon boat with a trolling motor whizzing over their head would definately put the fish on edge. Especially in an aluminum boat. I have a little 12 footer that I use occasionally, and if you drop a little 1/8oz. jig on the deck it sounds like bomb going off, let alone tackle box lids opening and rods slamming around.
  19. You know. This kind of stuff happens to me all the time too and no one ever beleives me. Glad to see I'm not the only one. :-? I was beginning to think I was a little weird.
  20. I always use a snap as well. But as soon as they look like they are getting a little beat up.Change them. They are a lot easier than tying knots all the time. Big snap fan!

Love the wiggle warts! Dive them into some weeds. Jiggle. Rip. Pause. Deadly!
  22. Isn't something how a big fish can make your day, sometimes your month. I wish my wife could figure that out.
