Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
went out from 6p-2a. right off the bat i catch a nice 3lbser on texas rig rage craw. nothing else happening at this spot! saw a tank cruising shallow but wanted nothing to do with what was tossin. she did take a 2nd look at the real prey perch. i work my way around to a wind blown point. noting for a little while here! i switched up to a sexy dawg and catch another twin 3lbser. few more hits on the topwater. fished a buzz jet and texas rig for awhile but nothing on em! so i decided to try out my new strike king night spinner bait! first cast bam missed fish! 2nd cast as the bait was fallin the bass smoked it! fighting hard like a smallie. nice 3.8lbser. i worked the area with it but nothing else. the spinner bait was catching a ton of weeds! not the good kind either! the kind of weeds that cover your lures.i see some flash lights on the other shore line near the spot i always do good at. so i kinda hightail it over. just some kids having a good time sitting around the fire! i catch a few fish here! lost a couple good ones on texas rig! switch up to a chatterbait and they clobbered it! pulled out 2 4lbsers. biggest being 4.5. i worked my way down shore to another point but got this weird feeling. then i hear some howling. oh ****! so i go back to where i caught the 4s. fished there for a little! calmed down! so i headed out! on the way back through woods i passed another little pond fished there! then heard the woods erupt with coyotes pretty friggin close! so i got the hell outa there! couple of good fish! nothing under 3lbs biggest was 4.5. zero fish on top after dark! these fish were fighting like hell tho! they were jumping like smallies! oh and i found out my waders had a bad leak so i got friggin soaked!

night fishing!
so ive only really started night fishing this year! and its really only been 2 ponds located next to each other. both of these ponds are connected. the best pond is the larger of the 2, ive fished this pond many times and only a few times at night! all my night fishing has been from shore! the spot ive done the best at is a set of cement walls that connect the 2 ponds. one side is a shallow flat beach area. the other has more grass rocks and is deeper beach area. in the middle of the locks as i call em is deep about 10 or so. a few yards off this wall it drops down quick to 20 feet! ive been catching 2-4s right off the wall! multiple fish nights right at the entrance of locks! the come up and school around it! big ugly texas rigged plastics have been the best for largemouths! top water for smallies! the buzz jet is what ive had luck on top with. tried BBZ rats and MS slammers with no hits! ive shined the light around the locks and you could see the schools of bass, perch suckers and other bait swimming around. but i do believe that the largemouth are really searching for craw fish on bottom then eating big swimbaits off top. i think something loud on bottom works the best here for largemouths at least! smallie like the loud obnoxious topwaters slowly crawled on top! pond 2. the smaller pond. there is a channel with alot of trees and is fairly deep i think around 10 feet. this connects the 2 ponds. at the entrance is a set of rock walls. the side i fish is a shallow beach area. this ponds SUCKS if your fishing during the day, very little cover and its pretty clear. but at night the bass feed! ive done the best here with topwaters , huddleston 68 night stalker swimbait and big ugly plastics! BIG KEY!! STRUCTURE!! SLOW LOUD BAITS!!!! the vibrations and noise will allow the bass to find your bait better! now ive always heard topwaters work the best! but i find the complete opposite! i will fish other ponds this year! im still a little scared about being in the woods alone at night! im also nervous about kayaking alone at night to! oh and dark colors work best! like blacks and purples

summer off shore bass
i live in new england so the water doesnt get higher then the mid 70s on bigger ponds and lakes. summer bassin isnt fishing in water temps 80 plus like down south. we have shiners and perch as the main food source. i have a big pond, deep clear with tons of perch and REALLY big bass of both smallies and largies. theres some great off shore humps deep trees, weed beds and rocks. i usually patrol the drop offs in this pond and need some advice on fishing deep here.

Fishing Largemouth Question
fish at night! bass will be much easier to catch at a place with little structure. i have a pond tough bass fishing during the day but if you fish at night my catch rate will increase. the bass feel safer and will eat low light conditions.

right! it sucks when your fishing a big bass pond and you hook into a fish thinking its a big bass but you end up catching big pickerel

Time for topwaters
been getting topwater smallies since april when the water first hit 50. i found some ponds are better for topwater! i mean maybe it was just the day i used the topwater and they didnt want them. i fished a bigger pond with big smallies had a few random blow ups with topwaters! got a dink smallie! for the record smallies werent bitting good that day but the largies were! same pond few days early at night! smallie came on topwater! while the largies came on texas rigs and swimbaits! but another pond loaded with smallies they crushed topwaters! nothing over 2.5 but they hammered it

i dont like pressure on my lakes! ive put alot of time in to find these spots! yes i know im not the only one to fish these spot but i dont want to see 5-10 boats out there. ive had ponds get ruined due to pressure! there was a place! stull has big bass in there but word got out and the fishin isnt what it used to be! ive had days where we had 20lbs plus bags for smallies but those days are long. word got out and fishing went down hill! also people suck! they litter and trash the place! thats a good way to get a place shut down. not saying you trash the place but people do! oh if you have any questions about a spot! hit me up i have no problem helping people!
