  1. Wait, those aren't 4 pound bass?!?! So I guess that 10 I caught the other day was probably only a 1? Aww heck!
  2. I was standing in mine for a bit, I'm not a fan I suppose it would help to not have my wife and 3 year old in the boat to, but I didn't enjoy standing. Sitting was great, after looking at it, the seat brackets go out to the pontoon, putting all the weight on the most stable area of the boat.
  3. I can understand the frustration
  4. Heavens waiting room I definitely need to move to Florida when (if) I retire!
  5. I still remember the first blowup using my dad's old hula popper. He didn't use many artificial lures, but he always had a hula popper.
  6. I'd go with the longer shaft, you can always put it deeper but it will be tough to make it shallower if it's to short. Is this still considered family friendly
  7. Very sad, the only way to prevent that is to not be in the area. If a person were to get caught in the current that's coming out of those dams, no pfd is going to stop you from going with it.
  8. Mines just the bare floor, I guess I'm going to have to try some carpeting. Thanks guys.
  9. My three year old has that same rod (Spider-Man) it's definitely not the best! I have to cast for him most of the time and that reel drives me crazy!
  10. I'm sure he's alive, I'm also willing to bet some fishing rods got broken!!!
  11. Mine is going in the water for the first time tomorrow! I'm definitely pumped about it, but I noticed something tonight getting it ready to go, that battery does an awful lot of sliding around. I threw a cheap ratchet strap around it and fastened it to the trolling motor, but I'm planning on having the motor in the front. What are you guys doing to keep your battery in place?
  12. Don't worry about it, carbines serve a purpose, in fact I prefer a carbine unless the fish are really deep, then I use the long barrel to really reach out and touch them
  13. That's going to be more dependent on your rod than your reel. It shouldn't be an issue casting that weight, you just need a heavy power rod to handle it.
  14. Well that depends on how much you want to spend. I can say I really like my fenwick hmg, it runs $99. If you're wanting something a little less maybe a Berkley Lightning shock rod. I have no personal experience with them but many members here recommend them.
  15. Usually if I see something on them I'll stick my finger in there and wipe it off, I normally don't get to crazy about it.
  16. What do you need to know? Sorry but your post is missing some vital information.
  17. Zoom swimming fluke and Yamamoto heart tail shad have caught me fish. The Yamamoto isn't slit per say but it's got a hollow belly that accomplishes what you're wanting.
  18. she's not from the UP, she still had the weird accent though! It's a lot better now after 10 years, but I have to retrain her to speak normal after she goes up for a visit.
  19. Interesting, I had no idea something like that would be that common.
  20. d**n weird talking southerners to to be fair y'all talk more normal to me than my wife and her family who are from Michigan, dontcha know!
  21. Please explain to me what happens when you go in unconscious? I'm an awesome sinker, but a horrible swimmer! I'd like to eventually get an auto inflate to wear but maybe I'd just be better off with a regular life jacket? Can you explain this more? Electrocution from what exactly?
  22. Get yourself a mattslure bluegill. Very realistic and you can get the nose weighted one that looks like it's eating off the bottom, perfect for beds
  23. Shoot, just buy both! I love my president LE and my hmg, I know I'd definitely grab that deal up, but I don't have any experience with the patriarch or aetos. I would assume it would be a really nice combo given previous experience with both companies.
  24. Dicks has them on sale, $10 each when you buy 2. I'm planning on getting a couple this weekend.
  25. You'll never know ?
