  1. Nice mods! I like the anti fatigue mats for the floor! I think I'm stealing that idea. Mind if I ask where you got the mats? I still haven't got mine in the water yet, still got a couple little things to get and she'll have her maiden voyage
  2. I don't know about big bass, I'm sure they are there, finding them is going to be the trick. I haven't been on them in years in a boat, but I was always amazed at how deep and clear the water is. It really is a beautiful place. I can't wait to get my little bass raider out there!
  3. Better keep it, probably some sort of rare collectors item before long!
  4. I bought mine last September and it had the China sticker on it.
  5. He's not to miserable, he's said he doesn't want to leave her, sounds like more he's annoyed than anything. I don't know if you're married or in a serious relationship, but I find myself annoyed with my wife at least once a day, and I don't see that changing anytime soon!
  6. That's the stump jumper pit, caught the my first bass on an artificial bait there. Good luck on Kentucky lake!
  7. Check out chinook fwa. It's over by Brazil/staughton. Should be just a few miles out of your way if you're taking 70. Decent bank fishing, just watch for snakes
  8. We will agree to disagree, amd I don't want to get into a debate about love and relationships, at least not in this thread I will agree breaking up shouldn't be an option on the table though.
  9. I fish all public water that anybody can fish so I don't mind sharing a body of water or what I used to catch them, but I'm definitely not going to show you any exact location. It's part of the fun exploring, finding the fishy places.
  10. I noticed the different location labels looking at the reels in person, I assumed that the higher end stuff would be made in a different factory. It's much like woodworking power tools, you can stand 5 different models of 14" bandsaws together and the only difference will be color and a few small details like blade bearings, other than that almost all the parts are identical.
  11. I don't own any okuma products... yet! I'm definitely going to be purchasing a TCS rod, I'm looking for a do it all and the lure weight range and moderate action look like just what I'm looking for. Now I just need to figure out a reel for it, and the wife already put her foot down on the okuma reel
  12. You definitely need to go buy it right now...
  13. Oh yeah, the LFS is made in China, the tournament MB is made in Korea... thank you cause I would have never known
  14. I think I'd be returning it or calling lews. Mine didn't make a sound, even before I got it home and lubed up.
  15. I like the knobs, but all the Chinese (?) writing and a lack of English concerns me. I'd hate to be buying a picture of a reel
  16. I was about the same age, maybe a year or two older. I found one laying in my tackle box the other day so I tied it on just for the heck of it and wouldn't you know it, I didn't catch a d**n thing
  17. I can't offer any opinion about the silver max, but I do like my lews lfs. It's my first baitcaster (I had some experience with them when I was a teenager) and I found it really easy to get dialed in. How much do you see yourself using that flipping button starting out?
  18. You would think it would be obvious that cutting a truck off would be a bad idea, but soooo many people do it. I understand people don't want to be stuck behind the slow truck and all but jeez, people will almost break their neck to get around you, usually just to turn left a half mile ahead!
  19. Oh man... I guess I should just get both... BAD BAIT MONKEY! Seriously though guys, thank you. I think I'll just plan on getting the lews. I know I can get it cheaper on eBay, and the carbon fiber handle isn't that big of a deal to me.
  20. Anything. I have a 7' 2". I drop shot with it, use it for finesse stuff, weightless senko. Mine is a Cheap Wright McGill I got from Walmart but I really like it. It's labeled as a drop shot rod.
  21. Thanks guys... you haven't helped my decision any, but thanks
  22. I give it two days. Or until the dozer pushes the pile up
  23. Haha, that's ok grumpy, I knew what you meant. I'm slowly teaching him to fish, but at 3, he's more of a reeler, less of a caster... we won't even talk about his serious lack of patience I can't wait for that first fish though, that will be a memorable day.
  24. I wish I could fish that much! Between work, kids, and the wife I'm lucky if I get out once a week, usually it's once every other weekend. My wife works every other weekend so I watch the child.
  25. I've got a left hander to... I could very well be wrong, but I'm almost positive it went down? I suppose I could get up off my butt and walk 10' to the garage to look, but to be completely honest I'm to tired and just to lazy
