  1. Well sir, you need to get your wife on these forums because you've been a wealth of knowledge for me, I can only imagine what she could teach us!
  2. where do I sign up???

    What a nice guy!
  4. Stickers to???
  5. Well I finally got hooked... caught a dink on a jerkbait, he thrashed and drove the other hook into my middle finger tip. Luckily his thrashing got him off the hook, but still left me hooked up. I backed it back out, I couldn't pop it through, and I didn't want to cut the hook since that jerkbait had been money for me! Now I make sure my pliers are near me whenever I've got a treble hook lure on.
  6. I got out last Saturday for a couple hours. Nothing unusual, hopefully I'm going to be able to go Saturday morning for a few hours.
  7. My lews is the same way, if you back the drag all the way off it won't always spin the spool.
  8. I reel left handed. I have better control of the rod with my right hand for walking baits and such. To many years using a spinning reel I guess?
  9. What didn't you like about the spro? I've been looking to expand my collection a little, but there's no point in spending more if they aren't worth the extra money
  10. The ones I looked at were in the $400+ range. I might have been looking at the D.C. Ones to, it's all foreign to me... see what I did there foreign? really? Nobody?
  11. No, there's plenty of guys on here using 10-20. I've got 6lb test on a spinning rod for panfish and it's fine. I personally use 20lb just because Walmart didn't have any lighter power pro. Go with a high vis line if you want, or just spool up 20, it won't hurt anything.
  12. You will lose a bit of casting distance with larger diameter lines. Is there any particular reason you're using mono? I switched to braid on my spinning reel and I doubt I'll ever go back!
  13. I've got some 6lb on an ultralight setup for casting light flies. I've used it for maybe a couple hours and it's fuzzy. I should have spent a couple more dollars and got power pro.
  14. I've never looked at the Japanese fishing market stuff before, pretty neat but man, some of that stuff is spendy!!!
  15. I throw in my opinion for something completely different, a fenwick hmg. I have a 7' medium heavy, that I can easily make a good cast with a weightless senko and it has a lifetime warranty, all for $99 on tackle warehouse. Edit, I forgot you were looking for a spinning rod. There's an hmg for sale in the flea market right now.
  16. It's now the wackynewjerseybretfishintreebankbeaterPeeweehermanfootmolester rig, right?
  17. I took my 3 year old and 16 year old out for a bit Saturday. The 3 year old mostly pestered his big sister which left me time to fish.
  18. I caught my first two fish on the wacky rig today. I caught them dead sticking it, which tells me it wouldn't matter how I rigged it, New Jersey, Bret, doesn't matter ?
  19. I love that episode! I always think of him driving down the road and people yelling "hey, ***man!" at him
  20. I have the opposite problem, 5 million things and most of them I want. How to choose just a few???
  21. I guess they would make cool Christmas tree ornaments?
  22. I just do the cheap Walmart tennis shoes, but I put them on a boot drier when I get done. I work outside in all kinds of weather so wet shoes are not a big deal to me. I buy cheap ones for work cause they get torn up fast. I would wear flip flops if I'm not hiking to a fishing spot, I may need to look into some crocs.
  23. Where would we be if didn't read about the latest developments in hollow body frogs every morning?
  24. Last name... well, minus the "Y" of course, that would just be weird...
  25. I've been using it in a quarry, very shallow, but the bass like this one. I give it a quick pull as soon as it hits the water, then reel in slowly then I'll give it another quick pull. I'd say fish it anywhere, I was catching 1 1/2-2 pounders on it.
