  1. Wow, something was definitely jammed up in there. I've never heard of a fish fixing a reel before this...
  2. I started targeting bass and stopped using live bait because I wanted more of a challenge but I'll definitely pick up my ultra light and catch some bluegill on occasion.
  3. Maybe fixed instead of messed up ?
  4. Welcome from another Hoosier.
  5. Well that's going to rule them out for me, after 10 years of wedded bliss I sleep on the edge of the bed!
  6. What the hecks an 8 track???
  7. Probably won't ever get your money's worth out of it. Unless the pawn shop guys fish, for all the know they can go down to Walmart and buy a St.Croix or whatever, unless a guy fishes and is into it beyond thinking all rods and reels are the same they probably just won't know.
  8. Wow, congrats on the upcoming grand baby!

I have effectively used them to target bigger smallmouth but it didn't make much difference with largemouth, of course I tried this same theory again and got skunked.
  10. I bought a ton of clearance terminal tackle and zoom soft plastic during the sell off, but that's about all they have that I'm interested in. There's only a DSG within half an hour of me, 1 nice tackle store and academy is an hour away. I do most of my buying online unless we are going to be somewhere near one of the stores.
  11. Me to, I always seem to guess them really young or really old, usually the opposite of their actual age.
  12. I always imagined you older, possibly grumpier, like Al Bundy
  13. So how's the leesa mattress?
  14. I always used a paint cleaner in between waxes on my car, got rid of spots really well.
  15. I go straight braid without issues, and I'm fishing water you can see 10'+ in
  16. You should be able to cast that fine. How about your technique? If I get in a hurry I tend to whip the lure and I'll get a backlash towards the middle of the cast. You could possibly be putting to much muscle into your cast.
  17. I never would have thought, but it is a heck of an idea! I fish a quarry that's full of limestone, I wonder if I can make my own
  18. Welcome to the forums! Senkos and 3/0 hooks are good, maybe look at siebertoutdoors.com and pick up some jigs, swim jigs, and a chatterbait. The Savage Gear 3D bluegill swimbait is a good one, also a couple hollow body frogs are always fun. I guess I should have asked first what kind of rod and reel are you using. My suggestions would be geared more towards baitcasters, of course most can be done with spinning gear also, you just need to make sure you have a stout enough rod. Frog colors, I like to keep a black, white, and natural color.
  19. I find when the don't bite that I try to force feed them and as we all know, that doesn't work. I do enjoy being out in nature, but some days it feels like I would have been better off staying in bed or going to w**k!
  20. I was having the same issues, on the advice of someone here I downloaded an app called PhotoShrinker. It works great and doesn't hurt the quality of the photos.
  21. What kind of rod are you casting on? I can cast weightless senkos on a medium heavy rod with no issues. It doesn't get half way across the lake, but it's a decent cast.
  22. I can deal with the horse and deer flies, at least you can kill them and not go to jail for it
  23. Follow the baitfish, the bass do.
  24. As my three year old says "HOLY COW MAN!"
  25. I've got one of the limited edition ones from last year, I love that reel.
