One of my fishing partners ask if I could make something like the War Eagle so I need to pick up a few to study. Gamakatsu DS hooks, Stand-out hooks, and started using the Owner hooks that Tom mentioned. For anyone missing fish the secret is to just start reeling as mega hook sets will make you lose fish. Allen

What I have found is places go trough cycles of good and bad every few years. Blairs Valley like which I have fished for 35 years is one such place. When I was a child it was so clear you could see down 20+ feet and catch 50 dinks a day. Now it is full of grass and stained but you can catch decent fish but no numbers. Allen

All I know is they are stainless steel and from China so who knows. The kit above is for stainless steel and you just dilute the blackening solution based on steel type. I will just use some trial and error this weekend to find out. As far as powder painting the blades I get too much powder on them every time and they look like crap. Allen

Still not sure why you would limit yourself unless you are sponsored? Personally I use whatever works regardless of manufacturer. The only limitation I could see is if you are limited to what you can buy locally from say Wal-Mart? Otherwise I have at least 20 different manufacturers besides what I pour myself. Allen

Trying to get back into pouring these after my accident. I spilled about 3oz of molten plastic over my hand one night trying to pour fluke tails. The burn was bad and my fingers swelled up to about twice their size which is why I have been hesitant. Allen I collect used soft plastics from guys in my club to melt down into trailers. GP and black are the best colors but I take them all. Some of the odd colors I just mix together and pour as senkos which I give away. Allen
