  1. While visiting there I fished Trap Pond and the 2 best lures were a chart. colored Mann's baby 1- and a Zoom toad. What I found was the pond had a lot of grass and stained water. Allen
  2. Colors that work are black and black! Buzzbaits, jitterbugs and black spinnerbaits with a large colorado work best for me. Allen
  3. Gunnish 95 Hasu G-Splash 65 Baitfish silver Sammy 100 Black or anything with a white belly These are what I catch 90% of my fish on. That gunnish is a fish catching machine in the river! Allen
  4. I have made my own in the past pouring 3/8oz hiddenweight spinnerbait heads on 1/4 or 1/8oz frames. Use small willows like 2-3 and a 3.5 rear blade with fine silicone skirts in natural colors. Allen
  5. I am in Huntsville for a couple weeks working and would like to hire a guide or pay a fellow fisherman all expenses to go fishing here. I have zero gear but I guess I could buy some if necessary? Anyone that can help me out. Allen
  6. Clear= natural colors, brown, green, etc. Muddy= Black and black And for trailers I use solid black or green pumkin 90% of the time. The thing that gets me is everyone says black and blue! Well that is about the worst color for me in a jig? Of all the color combinations black and blue just slightly edges out hot pink with a chart trailer (how about that for a combination ) Allen
  7. All the ponds I have ever fished like that a senko and Zoom toad worked better than anything else. Allen

Too much paint would be my guess? I use to have this problem until I bought a fluid bed. Allen
  9. I agree! My foiled baits look like I finger painted them? :-[ Guess what though? They are still in my tackle box as we care a lot more than the fish. Allen
  10. I add pauses about every 2' but I let the mood of the fish decide. These work better for me when the fish are more aggressive as opposed to a popper. The Gunfish 95 is by far my best walking bait as it is a cross between a popper and spook which really works in a river with current. Allen
  11. While I have not used that exact hook I have used several of there jig hooks. They are sharp but the quality control is lacking! I understand a bad batch now and again but all sizes and styles I bought had issues. Most of the problems I had were the bends were so far off they would not fit into the mold but there were also a lot of twisted eyes. Allen
  12. I am the biggest LC fan put the Live Pointer is the worst jerkbait I can remember buying! On the upside it works great as a wake bait! A slow steady retrieve works great for SM. If you try working it like a regular jerkbait it just has retarded spasms and will not even attempt to set level. Allen

Do you miss a lot of fish using those hooks? I switched to EWG hooks for my flukes and the hhoup ratio went up. Allen
  14. There is something wrong with your setup then? I can sling a weightless zoom toad on a 7' heavy action BC with 65lb braid further than most other lures on other rods. As far as other topwters a popper, buzzbait, walking bait are all you need. Allen
  15. I am completely reverse! Fast moving baits like a spinnerbait or crankbait first then I disect the cover with a jig and or worm. I make fishing partners cringe at the places I will throw a $22 Megabass crank! Allen
  16. There is the answer I love them when the water is sub 45 degrees but quit using them unless I get desperate. Allen
  17. Slug-go, original rapala, jitterbug. Allen

X2 The past 2 years the DS has done really well for me but I do not think it is the be all end all of bass fishing? Allen
  19. Did you see the lipless baits someone is selling over on TU? They look nice. Another place you will want to look is custom lures unlimited as they sell good unpainted blanks. Allen

I have 4 of his molds and they are nice but be prepared to wait. Allen
  21. Where do you get those from? Allen
  22. G- Splash 65 or a Rebel pop-r. Allen
  23. I have a bluegill colored flat CB LC bait I picked up on ebay before the prices went out of control. Some of the basic patterns I can paint myself but those bluegill baits are way out of my league. Allen
  24. I fish it about twice a year and even though I have not caught any big bass I saw some swimming around some fish cover. The lake will be full of grass in the summer. There is some riprap with really deep water and I have caught a lot of SM using a drop shot there. Allen
  25. Those outbarb Megabass Visions are worse than LC. As far as being scratched I have a silver pointer that is now half clear, missing an eye and on its 7th set of trebles but still works. Allen
