Anyone have experience with MHX Elite Pro blanks?
What I saw was someone took off the handle of a Kistler California Series rod and he posted pictures of the RX7 sticker on the butt off the rod. Tried a 6-10 Falcon rod and it was heavier than I liked. Also the handle was longer than what I wanted. Just going to make a custom rod on the Elite blank and see if it works for me? For measurements I went with the width of the blank above the reel seat compared to other rods and tip diameter. As for CCS while I know what that is I don't know how I would measure it on a made rod with 1.5" of tip broken off. Allen

Anyone have experience with MHX Elite Pro blanks?
Based on blank diameter and the way it fishes I personally would not call this a MH. My unexpert opinion would rate this as a medium+? Itys heavier than any medium I have used but not as heavy as any other MH I have owned. Based upon measurements I have taken the above blank is the closest thing I have ever found. The original Kistler was made on a Rainshadow RX7 blank per information I found online. Allen

MHX 6'10" Med-Heavy Elite Pro Rod Blank - NEPS82MHF-MHX (mudhole.com) Looking at this bland to replace my favorite T-Rig Kistler rod with the same specs that fell victim to a power window. Wanting to know if anyone has any experience with these blanks? This rod length is rare and even if I cut down a 7' rod they always are heavier than I want. I like this because it has the exact same specs as the Kistler California Series Senko rod my Tahoe window ate. Allen

Look into the Fuji KR guide concept. When I first saw it I thought it was weird looking but it works. Allen

Small Size Vibrating Jig Blades ?
Here are the different blade sizes you can find. The one on the right is size XL which is the size of a regular chatterbait blade. When I can walk again I will go find my blade stash and post some more pictures. Allen

Lighter and more sensitive blanks are more fragile. Everything is a trade off so in general I like Fuji Alconite guides and a SIC tip. In 18+ years I have never had an Alconite guide fail. The reason for the titanium SIC tips is Co-Anglers have stepped on too many tips. Allen

Randy Howell Herring Head Jig Mold Insert WEY525 #2622 (100pk) (lurepartsonline.com) They make 2 sizes of these so use the smaller one. Allen

Small Size Vibrating Jig Blades ?
If you want smaller hooks then you will have to use an S link. The Do-It Sparkie or Poisontail molds are what most people use to make bladed jigs. Allen

Dark Special is better! Very similar to Gitzits Brown. Allen

How do I determine the correct tube jig head (weight and hook size)?
Coming back to this, who makes that brown tube on top? Allen

Question for the Veterans on here receiving VA disability
I have noticed the opposite with benefits. Know a guy who was a photographer in the Navy that never left DC. He was able to get 100% saying he hurt his knee during a PT test. Five years later he was running the Marine Corp Marathon and Army 10 miler. Allen

Question for the Veterans on here receiving VA disability
Finally able to see a VA rep today. She has me requesting some stuff on my past claim denials. Also talked to an attorney who specializes in VA disability in case I get shafted again. Kicking myself in the ass for not following through with this years ago. Rough estimate I screwed myself out of at least $250k. Allen

When a lead pour is incomplete
Dremel 482 bit is what I use for modification to hand pour molds. Also make sure you have clearance for the hook eye length. That looks like a print_a_lure mold BTW. Allen

Cold water baits?

December is starting off discouraging 😑
Went out Saturday for about 2 hours and got skunked for the first time this year at a local creek. It had rained for two days before and there was a temp drop though. I did miss 2 bites on a small tube so I know I can go back this week and catch something. Allen

XPS baits
Their hardbaits I have tried were average in terms of comparing them to other brands. Nothing set the world on fire but all worked and caught fish. Now the EWG hooks were the worst hooks I ever used period. Normally if something doesn't work for me I just give it away. Those hooks either bent out on 12" fish, points were dull, and or missing the barb on half. Threw them in the trash so nobody else would feel the frustration I had. Allen

When a lead pour is incomplete
Hold with pliers then dip the bad pour back in the pot until it melts off. Once the hook has cooled you can just rub off whatever residue is left. Frankfort Arsenal Dropout is what I use now instead of the candle wax soot. Candle wax works its just easier to use the Arsenal spray can. The Arsenal spray I started using on my silicone molds and the pouring spout of the spincast machine. Allen
