Broken Megabass jerkbaits
I have 6 in the basement that I plan on replacing the lips. These will be my first MB jerkbaits but I have replaced broken bills on crankbaits before. Allen

Cold Water Jigs?
- Jerkbait retrieve shallow vs deep
What I see in that video is at the beginning of May next year you need me to come up and be your net man. Allen- New mold arrived
Tested these out today and am not happy with them as-is. First I poured them in harder plastic which I think the cold water made worse. Second the cutouts are not deep enough so I will have them cutt deep along with adding one or two more. Final thing I plan on changing is making the fins the same size. If you look the top fin is a little smaller than the bottom which I just didn't like the way it looked in the water. Going to pour some more in a softer plastic and see how much of a difference that makes? All the prototypes now have their final resting place in the riprap at Blairs Valley Lake along with two LC Pointers (Not the best day on the water today). Allen- Show Off Your Work!
The top two will work really well, Baitfish colors like that are the top producer for me in clear water. Be careful with the bottom one getting the front blade too close to the Rbend? Honestly I don't think that front blade will spin and most likely just flop back and forth. I ran into this problem myself which is why I mention it. I would also recommend metal beads at least behind the clevic. The clevic is metal and rotating on plastic it will eventually wear into the plastic stopping the rotation. Allen- Cold Water Jigs?
You always post very important information like this that I hope others pay attention to. I just had a Zoom Tiny chunk mold made so I could pour them in supersoft plastic for this reason. We use these on small hair jigs in sub 40 degree water which stiffens the plastic too much. Allen- Winter Football Jig Trailers
Super chunk is the best for me for cold water. Allen- How Often And When Do You Use Firetiger Crankbaits
Most non-productive color I have ever used period. I tried them off and on for years and have caught exactly one bass on a firetiger crankbait since 1987. Allen- Jerkbait retrieve shallow vs deep
With all the jerkbait threads popping up I figured I would bring something up I don't see mentioned. retrieve. Now with the shallow divers I fish them just like you would think jerking them at a fast cadence. Now deep divers are a different animal to the point they are almost a separate category. Deep diving baits will blow out or roll if you are too aggressive. The way I fish the deeper baits is I will reel them down to depth and give them small jerks or just pull them forward a couple inches with the rod. What I have found is the colder clear water the method of just pulling them far outproduces actually jerking them. This is why I include a Shad Rap RS in my deep jerkbait category along with Staysees and DD Pointers. Allen- Jerkbait under $16?
For a deep diving suspender, I would try the Rapala Shad Rap RS. They make a great perch color and this bait really works for me. Now I only use the chrome black back but it is a great cold water bait. Allen- Searching for
- Jerkbait under $16?
There are a lot of different baits mentioned but I doubt I ever move away from LC pointers. Allen- Searching for
- Bass Travel Routes
Here in the spring I am flippin jigs at the end of ice ledges like they are low to the water docks. Or trying to punch through the thin ones with a heavy weight. Allen- Bass Travel Routes
Winter in Florida? Water temperature gets down to what 60 degrees? Allen- Medium Size Swim Jig
There are two basic styles of swim jigs, Wisconsin light hooks and Southern which have 30 flipping size hooks. I looked up the Nojack and it uses a Gamakatsu hook but doesn't state the size. So these are identical 3/8oz jigs. Top has a 4/0 VMC hook. 057 diameter. Bottom is a 5/0 Mustad. 048. You can see the size and diameter difference. Allen- River guys - do you use strictly moving baits in the fall or do you mix Ned in occasionally?
Spinnerbaits in the start of fall then I move to jerkbaits for moving lures. If they are not active then a finesse jig or small tube 2.5 to 3.25". Allen- New creature bait
You can get a mold whatever size you want. The 3.5" beaver has worked so much better for me that I only carry 2 bags of the larger ones. Allen- New creature bait
3.5" like a Smallie Beaver but slimmer. Allen- New creature bait
Bugmolds has been switching around parts of different baits. This has the body of a Zcraw with the flappers of a beaver. Looked good so I bought a single cavity mold to try out. Allen- What was you're best lure and set up this year?
This year for me was moving baits or tiny finesse. Spinnerbait Custom colored fluke Bandit 100 Baby 1- TRD Bug 2.5" tube Honorable mention was two days I wrecked them on a Vision 110jr in Fine Art Wagasaki. Need to buy some more baits in this color. Allen- New mold arrived
New chatterbait trailer mold just arrived today. Mold is 4" and you can see what it looks like on a bait. Allen- Terminator T-1 Spinnerbait ID
