Good news for you is there are plenty of perfect lures to catch bass.. more than I personally have time to try. I like the red eye shad tho! One of the best value lipless on the market. Go find you somewhere deep and try that 1/2 oz out.

Man I would have taken 20+ pictures of me with that bass. Idk how you could take only 2 .. I'd held that thing every which way. I understand getting her back in the water . But it takes mili seconds to snap continuous photos.

No doubt I'd rather use power pro than spiderwire. But I started using spiderwire 11 years ago when I was 14. And used it for 5-6 years without any issues. It's your knot. As suggested use a Palomar knot and it's fine.

Nah. Fish with em. If you don't get any bites and convinced it's the action (and not location / timing ) then boil the tails... Super easy but I usually only have this problem with stiffer plastics like zoom.

@Graham that's a male... 9 people liked your post and didn't point out to you that the female don't guard the fry.. the male fans (or makes) the nest. The female just lays the eggs... Usually in more than one nest. The male then fertilizes the eggs and gaurds the fry until they are able to swim and hide for themselves. In which he will probably then decided to eat a few of them lol. It's a fascinating process. Many threads on it. Nice catch tho

Only hook you need for those ikas is a 4/0 ewg. I wouldn't even consider a round bend or standard shank...the ewg is perfect for the ika and I get quite a few fish per bait too which is crazy given how easy all GY plastics get torn up. I've tried hooks similar... I'd only ever use them for skinny worms, lizards and certain craws on a standard t-rig . I like offset usually and Tex pose with a light skin hook...

Sucks he held it so close... I've seen people who say their bass went 3.9 pounds and it looked just as big as that. Crazy how the cameras can do that.
