  1. I dont have ultra lite for spinning gear, I think lite rod pair with shimano sahara 750 is good enough to cast 1/16 oz jig for panfish. I do have UL casting rod, btw, it is daiwa spinmatic 7' which I normally pair with calcutta 50.

    Good job landing two fish.
  3. Good tip on spinnerbait, i might try that soon. For Senko, I use regular heat shrink tube where you can buy varities pack with different size tube.
  4. Your thump is your firend, use him more, touch the spool a bit when cast. Make sure you get the right weight for your rod/reel and line setup. With your 50lb braid and MH rod, you not gonna cast light wight lure very easy. I would use at least 3/8 oz with those setup.
  5. The 90 size trend to submerger more than 130 size. Normally I either use mono/hybrid or braid line for this type of lure, no FC needed. Also when reel back I will lift the rod high at first to help lifting the line out of water or reel as fast as possible to get rid of slack line when lure hit water. Only time the body of 90 size spin for me is when the tail hook snack on something. I do use snap (not the whole swivel with snap) sometime when I know Im gonna change different type of lure on the same reel, but never with 130 size(I trust my knot more than those little snap I got).
  6. Not water dry up but they have to close the d**n becuz they have contract to sell water to other place. They know what would happen but nobody do anything about the fish. Yes I think this take place in new mexico.
  7. You might be able to buy bass from local pet/fish store, illigal of course. I think I saw live bass sold in asian market once. Btw I have never once got check on my livewell, Perris, DVL, Skinner and lake henshaw.
  8. I would vote for zman trd the best, I caught many and still using the same one. 2nd would be zoom fluke both super and junior in white. I do fish with a lot other but always come back to these 2.
  9. So you share your report here but not at the lake because you think not many members gonna fish the same lake? Or you also lie here? im just saying.
  10. Does OP confirm that someone really went into his gears and lures?
  11. Have you guys seen this video. It is so sad many fish have to die from some political.
  12. If I go with pontoon route, I might as well keep my small jon boat for fishing.
  13. @scaleface i like deck boat look comfly for my wife and easy for me to fish but the price seem very high. I also like multi spicies where the kids and wife can enjoy catfish / sun fish sometime, but how about my dogs, cant just leave them home alone. With all said I think 70% chance I will settle with pontoon. what is the best way to buy used boat? Craiglist? Boattrader? Dealer? All cash or payment?
  14. Good reminder there. I have not done split shot for a long time. I remerber when I use power worm with split **** drag slow a long bottom very close to bank, I caught a whole bunch of dinks.
  15. Very beautiful man, you are one of the lucky one. I tried to get family to do basd fishing but none show interested.
  16. Shame on you?
  17. If you gonna use 10lb braid on bait caster why dont you try copolymer / hybrid line. They are smaller than mono with the same strenght. For example #6 hybird would have 10-12lbs mono strenght. I like using #4 Izorline on my dedicated lite setup reel(calcutta 50). It soft very manageble and got some strenght with it. I landed 23 lbs carp with this setup before.
  18. X2 here, Im right handed reel on caster but left on spinning. I found it to be easier when move any lure with rod on spinning gear but I can use caster on any lure as well.
  19. I think I like multi spicies where I can fish for bass, or fish for catfish with family and once awhile we can do some wakeboard too. Deck boat look comfly but why double seat on front and the price whoa whoa, cant afford that. I think the wife has eyes on pontoons boat which would be perfect for family fishing night or just plain crusing with pinic bucket and price also fit the bill. Only concern is how the heck am I gonna be able to launch / load that huge boat by myself. The travel is not a problem since the launch lamp is less than a mile away. how about bass fishing from pontoons, anyone have experience? yeah tell my wife that, would you??
  20. Keep them coming now 2 : 0 fish & ski. how easy to launch & load Pontoons boat alone? How easy to control the boat with trolling motor. I like the ideal of being cheaper, but how easy to find it used between two boat? I narmally fish alone and only got a few hours so I would go bank fishing more than boat and I dont wanna leave the dogs alone at home for too long. the lake in question would be canyon lake in california, where it is narrow but long, there will be a lot of water activities, water ski, wake board on the weekend.
  21. @Gundog does this look like she into bass fishing? I dont think so.? Doesnt matter who pay for the boat nor whose decision, I think the wife who will have the last word.?
  22. let say for a family of 4 humans 2 are in 20 who are not into bass fishing and 4 small dogs. I think they cannot have anything longer than 21 feet. The whole family will use the boat may be once every blue moon, but the husband would go out and fish every week by himself. Which boat should they buy, pontoon vs fish & ski? Pro and con please.
  23. White smoke/shad green weenie (zoom only)
  24. Hi and welcome from another californian.?
