That might not last a couple seasons or one PB instead of 15 yrars. Another thing to consider is part, it might be harder to find a replacement part for off brand reel.

Finesse gear is great, lite line light bait, drag very slow and prepare for all big and small. Sometime the split shot will slide down to the hook so I use plier to pinch down instead of finger.

P-line snap if it is duo lock, then I have this one. It it good that you can add swivel into it if you want too, but it is kind of flimsy and a bit harder to lock the snap. After a few time of lock and unlock, the snap will loose it shape and make it even harder.

Make sure when you pull your line to clip gripper not too tight just enough for it to stay. After that you can try to pull the weight lightly to see if it stays at spot you want. Some time the gap between those are too loose then you would need to close the gap with your plier, also if it too tight then open it up abit. This type of dropshot is for you to easily attach the weight and should be also easily to adjust the weight distance, and also be able to pull the less out when snag. Trying overhand knot is easy fix but that woule kill the purpose of this easy grip dropshot type. BTW I do lost the weight sometime when fight with fish but never while casting.

Tried Jitter bug jr. spook and whopper plopper today at local pond. Got a bite on jitter bugs but missed it, finally land first fish with whopper plopper 90. End the day with another dink on dropshot Z-man TRD. My wrist got so d**n tired with walking that spook after 15-20 mins. Gotta wait until my lefty reel come in to try spook again.

I alway leave a bit of room on spool maybe 1/8 of an inch. I will fish until half of spool left to re spool new line. I dont use backup line since I use hybrid which pretty cheap by itself. Once a season, if the line still managable and still more than 2/3 left, I will re spool with the same line but rotate the end of spool out.

I would agree with get what you can afford and what you comfortable with. Check on review compare price with other reels in the same price range. It doesnt matter if it cheap or expensive as long as it can catch you some fish. For rod, you might look into lightning rod, pretty cheap rod with exceptable quality. You can find those on any local fishing tackle or walmart(this case you can check out both rod and reel in person and get to feel/hold it in your own hand. If you are comfortable with online shopping then check out pure fishing outlet, you might be able to find it cheaper.

I also had both chornarch 50e and 70HG. I like them both but to use I prefer 50e over 70, To me 50e cast and retrieve is way smoother than 70. I also feel 50e palm better due to it seet abit lower on the reel. which one I would buy right now? 70XG then 70HG due to its newer technology, price and faster speed.

This exactly what Im gonna post. I bought president 6930 then bought sysmetre 2500 when on sale.They both perfrom very good at this price point. If I were to choose only one, I would keep symetre though.

A friend of mine bought those value abu garcia (round 5500 size ambasssador S)from wally world for big swimbait. He used it a few time and complaint about casting distance. I opened up and show him how much grease they stuff in that reel, I clean it out a bit and have him try again. He said way better than before. Then I have hime try my 6500 c3 with power handle. Guess what? he returned that reel to walmart the next day. i did not say blackmax is not good but they do have their market, but if you want better smooter last longer reel then you might have to go up a step.

Also demand and supply too. The major brand would get higher re-sell value than those other reels/rods. Also how fast you wanna sell, you can hold your price point if you are not hurry, but gotta reduce some if there is no hit in awhile.

The guy got so lucky that huge bass didnt putup a lot of fight. The way bass came un done after he net her was so scary. A good reminder for all boaters out there dont leave your net at home. Ill also have to remind myself that too.
