  1. It is not about casting with Neko Rig but more like presentation. I fish Neko/Wacky rig all the time with baitcaster caught plenty of fish but Spinning is way better when you wanna present the worm in slow pace for both neko/wacky. The difference for me between both is Neko rig can cover water faster and deeper than wacky rig, and in the meantime can present as slow as wacky rig if (choosing the right worm). Another benefit of Neko Rig is you can choose different type worm, craw (my favorite Baby brush hog or Zmanz stuffs) but not so much on wacky rig. Mean time Wacky rig advantage is fishing in grassy area or mud bottom. Weight if you can find heavy enough screw to match your style it should work. You gonna loose a lot of that so cheaper is better. I use mostly 1/16-1/8oz. I use weedless hook sometime (for snagging purposes) but I don’t usually fish Neko rig around weed area. I found the long shank VMC Neko hook, I use Mustad Titan, work well with both techniques and can improve hookup percentages. I’m gonna try VMC soon, I’m not sure but I think Mustad use heavier wire, and somehow I have problem bass stay hooked with weedless on my spinning.
  2. You spent 60-70 for gear swap yes you get a cool drag sound but you get one working reel. I’d rather spend 200 and got two good working reels.
  3. It is not gonna be shallower since both are 70 capacity and same width. The reason the MGL spool is better at least for me is, the heaviness of 70 spool make it harder to control at the end of the cast since spool does want to stop. Doesn it matter with heavy lure? NO but I use my reel for finesse, weightless Finesse worm or roboworm, it does matter. BTW that engetsu 100 is actually 50 size since I transfer the line from my CQ50 to stile and got almost the same amount of line.e
  4. I’m not rich like you to buy a gear swap for just that MM gear, and also no MGL SPOOL, that engetsu is as heavier as curado spool. Like I said not everyone into JDM gear like you. BTW, I was looking into these reel and stile ever since I know it base on 70. Actually like when reel test guy did his you tube long time ago. That show how much I like 70 base shimano. Maybe 4 of my 70 can prove that.
  5. This might be the first custom paint reel for me lol. Or better yet gutted this and swap with either curado or scorpion, use this for part or loaner. I’ve never been a fan of green accent anyway.
  6. I don’t give a d**n what that wanna call their reel. They answered those questions of new MM gear or MGL spool in 70 size reel.
  7. Same thing as alphas platform from DAIWA, how many model base on this alphas platform, from what? 15 years ago. This MM gear and MGL spool have been asking for in small reel like base curado 70 for years. Not many buy JDM stuffs like you, so ppl hope that they released this type reel in US for whatever reason. Despite of being geary and all, the curado 70 still the most comfortable reel to palm, at least for me, alphas not even close or even the shimano 50 series itself.
  8. Mono and FC is the worst to get line twisted on spinning. Braid is not eliminate line twisted but will prolong it quite well. There are many method to help with line twisted problem if you do it regularly. To me the most line twisted come from when reel back in fast and cast. I always take my time by letting the lure hang about 5’ to spin all the twisted line out before next cast. Walk out line on grass area and reel back in with your fingers pressure. I have a 100’ long dock so once awhile I would let line out in water (no lure tied) walk to the end of dock and reel in with my finger pinch tight to the line. Or you can follow our own @Glennway. Smaller braid also benefit in casting distance improve sensitivity, if you are not ready to invest in them up to you. Good mono or FC is as expensive or might cost more compare to braid but the life expectancy might be a lot less on spinning setup. You don’t need a whole spool of braid just 75 yds (1/2 of 150yds spool).
  9. Yeah I was looking at Soare Ci4+ 500 very hard after tried one of my friend. I might get that to replace my Sahara 750. A spinning reel under 5oz, why not?
  10. That might be 4000 and 5000 (mostly target heavy fish) typically 3000 size will get T knob 2500 and down get regular knob.
  11. yeah but it still need more red, especially in the front drag dial and body guard. MSRP is very high 300 up, and I don’t think I’m gonna go for it. This look like Kage from Luvias with Monocoque body and Zaion rotor.
  12. C mean compact, 3000 spool in 2500 size body or 2000 spool in 1000 size body, just like Daiwa.
  13. A little heavier than 70 with 4 more bearing (supposedly knob bearing) and maybe aluminum handle side plate. If they don’t change anything else but MGL spool, MM gear and price the same. I’ll get one or two. Man, like I know this coming just sold one of my curado 70 a few days ago.
  14. I’m gonna be d...., they offer 500 and 1000 in stardard gear plus 2000. I definitely get one. Anyone wanna buy Kage LT 2000? Lol.
  15. No, no more spinning reel for me .... but that looks good. I dig black and red trim. Wondering if shimano will keep the model name as is or change when available in US.
  16. That is pretty normal for new line especially with FC since line still have memory of being in bigger spool. Every once awhile I would cast as far as possible and start reel in slowly with finger pressure. Let the lure hang about 4-5 feet to spin the twisted out. Hey at least you get a bite or you know you get a bite lol. I don’t normally use FC with spinning reel, all of mine have braid to leader. Just keep using the line until it beyond fixable and turn that into backing line. As a side note, drop shot can create line twisted like no tomorrow once you start reel in fast. You might consider using swivel to help with that.
  17. Sensitivity have nothing to do with rod power. You need rod that have enough backbone and fast enough tip to drive the hook into fish mouth. Most of shakey head is not exposed or have some weed guard and pretty heavy wire. Medium/Fast would be the lowest I use for shakey head. Budget at 100 you can find a lot of good rod for that. Daiwa Tatula XT 7’M/F or 7’1 MH/XF might be good for that and many other things.
  18. If you have other use for FC and you have the way to get the line out on to other spool with out twisted then go ahead, take it out. 12lb Invizx is about the same as #8 Copolymer, you might be okay for awhile since you have 3000 size spool. After the line started give you trouble then use that as expensive backing line. Now remember you would need almost 2/3 of backing if you using 10-15lb braid.
  19. @mrpaoalready mentioned Abu and Lews mostly use bigger post. I cannot comment of Lews but Abu won’t fit.
  20. I use mostly Zman plastic (ZinkerZ, Finesse worm FattyZ) but once awhile I’ll switch to roboworm or zoom trick worm. I use Mustad 1 and 1/0 Neko hook. Expect to loose the worm and weight in just one fish. I go cheaper route by using Crappie jig weight from 1-4 grams depend on depth. I like this because it easier to use with Elaztech plastic and it make some noise when shaking on rock bottom.
  21. @bwjayDon’t use reel to balance your rod, use balancer kit or DIY with chair leg cap. It will make the setup feel way better. BTW Tatula LT and Up are about the same class weight as CI4+.
  22. Totally agree here. I was gonna buy Stradic FL 1000 6.5oz for those MGL rotor, long stroke spool and x-protect, but weight of almost 1oz more killed it. I ended up with Ballistic FW 2500S 5.8oz and Kage 2000 LT 6oz. Love those LT reels. Now if ci4+ the weight should be close and with those feature of FL, I might bite a bullet, since I still wanna upgrade my old ci4.
  23. So it is basically Stradic FL on steroids with 1oz less weight, for about 30-50 bucks more once it is become CI4+FD. I might get one of this in 1000 size. I dig long stroke spool, MGL counter balance rotor, and x protect. I wish shimano would add low speed gear for US market.
  24. Okay I have nothing else to do. Let see if I can translate these Da vinci code. Lol This is from Stella which cover a lot model than Exsence. C3000MHG - 6.0 gear(HG). 47mm spool size, PE1 190m(M). Weight 210gram(C) C3000SDHHG - DH (double handle) everything else pretty much the same but line capacity is PE1 120m(S), weight 5 gram more for double handle C3000XG - 6.4 gear(XG), PE1 400m (no letter standard spool) everything else same C3000 - 5.3 gear, PE1 400m (No letter standard gear and spool) 210 gram (C) 3000MHG - pretty much the same only 5.8 gear? and 225 gram 15 gram (.5oz) heavier (no C) More explanation. Lol I have too much fun now. 6-9kg? Drag capacity 47/17 spool width/height various number is line retrieving is CM 45/55 handle length 45 for double handle. 12/1 bearing I hope I guessed all these correctly or close, d**n I’m not Japanese.
