I had a pond as a kid that was smaller and spring fed. Used to irritate me when you walked up and watched fish take off. I literally found a big rock to hide behind as a kid and killed a bunch of huge crappie with a yellow Mepps casting over the rock.

I believe we will make this one. It's a good prefishing tournament for the high school world championship also. Won't need lodging.

I like Youtubing different things a lot. Different techniques and different lures. It's a good source.

I'm guessing that it would have to take the place of fishing gear? Nah. If I'm bleeding bad enough to stop fishing I should of turned the motor off to put the plug in.

You choose your fishing friends by who won't blab or doesn't own a boat to get back to your sweet spots instead of choosing people you enjoy. I just realized I'm an a hole after reading that back to myself.

The weekends before and after are generally the best ones to plan a trip.

I love using Zoom 7" ribbon tails on a shaky head. Probably my favorite thing to throw and catch fish.

Before I go fishing at a new lake I like to zoom in on it on google earth. I have a couple depth/fish finders but you would be surprised at things you can find looking at it like that. If you get lucky, the google earth image will be from when the water is low.

Caught a 7-8 pound blue in a bass tournament Friday before last on a chartreuse spinner. Thought I was in the money.

Caught a duck on the last hook on a trot line one time. He hooked his leg swimming I guess. The hook wasn't baited. He was the worst catch and release I've dealt with. Unhappy guy.

I have a slimy pond I love to fish here in Oklahoma. I get floating 7" black works and drag them across the top. Really enjoy it. Can't go wrong with the ol scum frog either.
