  1. It is electric only but you can launch a Bass Boat but you cannot run the outboard. You have to use your trolling motor or paddle for locomotion!
  2. You can read all about the science or lack their of about Global Warming on www.junkscience.com. Al Gore even makes the case against CO2 causing global warming without even knowing it. He shows a graph of CO2 going up and temperature going up. What he doesn't mention is that the temperature goes up 80-200 years BEFORE the CO2. Ice cores have repeatedly verified the findings. Solar cycles and sunspot activity actually are a better predictor of warming.
  3. Muddy, BassChaser57 posted this originally on February 28, 2007. It took me all of two seconds to find it in a search because I remembered his screename.
  4. You can stand up in a boat and fish on Motts. Nobody bothers you. The secret bait for Motts is summed up in two words........ Silver Buddy I hate the place but I do know that a lot of tournament money has been won on a 1/2 oz silver version.
  5. John, What was the water temperature on the lake? Where were you fishing, Anna, Pamunkey, splits or down lake? I struggled everytime I went to Lake Anna last year.
  6. I like how you put those brush piles together! I wish I had a plentiful supply of 5 gallon buckets and PVC. I would make some of those too! One thing that I do before I load the boat is cover the whole thing with 2 mil plastic. I load all the brush and cinder blocks on top of it. After I drop the last bundle of brush, I roll up the plastic and all the leftovers. Here are a couple of links to brushpile discussions over the last few weeks: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1203983523/all http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1203006875/all
  7. Carp, Now that is funny! I don't have the removeable mount, I have it firmly bolted to the boat. I will say this......don't let your buddy pull in the motor for you.....My partner pulled up the trolling motor for me. We took off....When I hit the first wake, the motor fell down and we both got soaked with spray! He didn't get it latched......He has a cable steer motor. I am glad if this helps somebody modify theirs. I friend of mine modified his 4 years ago and I just copied what he did with a couple slight modifications. He drilled into the cone instead of the shaft and didn't use the silicone.
  8. Go to www.minnkotamotors.com, click products and click Select-A-Motor. Plug in the information about your boat and it will tell you what they suggest is right for your boat. Try it on 12V and 24V.
  9. Larry, Go to www.minnkotamotors.com, click on products, Select-A-Motor and input all info about your boat. It will tell you what size is correct for your boat.
  10. Are you bold enough to take on this project? If you can drill and solder, I think you can do it too!
  11. Give the JB Weld a day to dry and you are done. Here is a picture of the final product.
  12. Attach the top to the head of the trolling motor. Use a #2 phillips head screw driver to tighten the head of the trolling motor. The cable was run out a square hole in the head. Coil the transducer cable and tie wrap it every other coil to the power cord that goes to the mount.
  13. Wrap the cable around the inside of the head of the trolling motor.
  14. Slide heat shrink over the splice and shrink using a lighter.
  15. Inter-twine the shield wire and solder together.
  16. Slide the 1/8" heat shrink over each soldered section and use a lighter to shrink the tubing.
  17. Cut a 3" piece of 1/4" of heat shrink and slide it over one end of the cable. Cut two 1/2" pieces of 1/8" heat shrink and slide them over each of the 1" wires. Solder the red wire to the red wire and the black wire to the black wire. The picture is a little fuzzy but you should understand what is being done.
  18. Peel back the foil and strip 1/8" off the red and black wires.
  19. Plug in the 25 Watt soldering iron so that it can heat up. Strip about one inch of insulation from one side of the transducer cable and a 1/2 inch from the other side of the cable.
  20. Apply mixed JB Weld over the cable, tie wrap, hole and entire area that the paint was removed with the Dremmel tool.
  21. Add a tiewrap to hold the transducer cable in place forever.
  22. Push the transducer cable completely up the shaft.
  23. Replace back plate and two screws with 1/4" nut driver.
