  1. Sorry MATT but you are incorrect about the internal structure of BASS and BASS Federation Nation BFN signs a contract with BASS and BASS employs a BFN team to run BFN. We as BFN members pay $25.00 each x 25,000-40,000 members to BASS to get a product called BFN. BASS takes in $$ from sponsors to reach all their BFN members. Furthmore BFN Volunteers Presidents, Conservation Directors and hosting State Federation Workers and Youth directors for years have been the cheap free labor that runs the Classic's.
  2. Attached please find a Press Release announcing the move of the JWC from the 2008 Bassmaster Classic in February to the 2008 BASS Federation Nation Championship in November. This issue was discussed with groups of Presidents during the recent Presidents meetings and is being done to align our youth programs with the premier BFN events. We realize that this is short notice and for that I apologize, but I have been reviewing all of our youth programs (as well as all BFN programs) since my return to BASS in May. I believe that this is the right move for the overall Junior Bassmaster program and there is no reason to delay implementation of the decision. Without going into all of the details, I believe that most of you will be very pleased with the youth initiative that is currently in the planning stages. We should have that finalized and out to you right after the first of the year. This was a tough decision, but one that will ultimately help all of us strengthen our youth programs and provide a youth initiative that directly leads to an increase in BFN membership. If you have any questions, please feel free to email or call me. Thanks and have a great holiday season, Don Don Corkran BASS/ESPN Outdoors Director, BASS Federation Nation The Actual Press Release FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE December 5, 2007 BASS to Move 2008 Junior Bassmaster World Championship to Federation Nation Championship Week in November CELEBRATION, Fla. In order to align its youth initiatives with its grassroots organization, the Federation Nation, BASS announced today that the 2008 Junior Bassmaster World Championship will be moved to the week of the Federation Nation Championship festivities, set for November in Junction City, Kan., and Milford Lake. The BASS Federation Nation is the main conduit of support for BASS' youth initiatives, and the move will allow the grassroots organization of BASS to lend more active support to the marquee youth championship event. This move allows the BASS Federation Nation representatives to further mentor these youth competitors during their championship event, said Don Corkran, director of the BASS Federation Nation. We applaud our past Bassmaster Classic contenders for their active participation in the JWC. The 2008 Bassmaster CastingKids National Championship will take place during February's Bassmaster Classic week in Greenville, S.C. 3. Thanks for all the support I see in these messages. We will all get past this dark day in BASS history. Calling those 2 kids and their families as well as couple Jr guest an my own daughter to tell them the JWC/ Classic was off was thee most stressfull, depressing day of my 42 years. I've contacted the Airlines and as long as we travel with them; NorthWest within 1 year and we can't switch any travelers we will be looking at $100.00 per ticket, $1400.00 loss. JWC with the Pro's, Classic memories, ruined family vacations and the disappointment have been crunched by Corporate and =$0.00. I wonder how much additional advertising $dollars$ it will take to re-coup the lost membership from this money saving plan. Again Thanks Junction City, Kan., and Milford Lake. Information needed please tell me you've seen a Northwest Plane on a local runway. $4200.00 if not :'(
  4. Leaked Photo, Some one else needs the credit for this one.

  7. Blow dryer or heat gun, Your good old fingernail and to finish it off WD-40 on a wragg.
  8. The feeling of little tight spots is normal. you should feel about a dozen clicks in a full revolution. The vibration still could be a bent shaft if you hit something. dont think a bent shaft is covered. But a worn nicked prop can cause problems. Many suggest to take it off and rotate it 180 degrees. Good luck

11/20/2007 Blizzard in RI. The Boat is coverd, no school and no food or batteries left on the shelves. Alternate form of transportation is a must.
  10. 6.1 SM Way to go on the carrot stick we want a review!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Guys up here are going nuts over them.
  11. One night we were trying to duplicate a previous banner night, mid summer near full moon 10-12 pm and we couldnt catch a thing on a jitterbug till we started throwing them out an just leaving them, I mean for minutes 3-10. We would never hear that wonderfull top water hit. We would just reel in and many, many times we would have a good to great fish on the line.
  12. BPS may be busy but the Pats are winning this week in Buffalloooooo 11/18/2007
  13. One night a few years ago the bite was on and we threw every jitterbug I owned till we had no more. That night was a 50 plus night and once the jitterbugs were gone we went to hulla poppers till they were all gone. Color & size made no differnece. That next winter I found a EBAY auction of at least 20 of them for about $50.00 brand new. Many times anglers on my boat use jitter bugs and have never seen a big differnce in color to strike ratio. What i will tell you is that I'm a jitterbug freak ok therapy hasnt worked. There are some wild color jitterbugs out there called STRONG version. I also own a rare glow in the dark one that you put near a light and the name explains the rest. One time I threw it out and it never landed matter of fact it just keep going and upwards. Tin2Win and I after a bit of OH S__T'S we figured a bat must of latched on to it and took it a few hundred feet. Being out on a deseted lake around midnight I do recall replacing the CALVINS once home. LBH those jitterbugs in your pictures look just like my missing collection from a certain empty PLANO BOX in my boat.
  14. Matt Fly I'm gonna say it isn't so!!!!! I have been in electronics for years, and know that your standard little 9 volt would take 48 AA, and where would you fit 48 of those into the little battery. Besides, chemistry has taught us differently. I'm gonna call BS and ask who has attempted this? Just because theres a video, dont make it so." So here is a 9volt hack job One to many electrocutions may have clouded the math 9v = 1.5 x 6 Dont feel bad I have subsituted a finger for 12 gauge a few to many times also. But since I started this I had to try it This morning 11/13/2007 my Eveready 9v meet a chisel and safty glasses of course. While they are close they are about 1/8" shorter than AAA but a small strech of a devices spring or tinfoil ina emergency would do the trick. I feel like the professor on Gilligans Island HEY SKIPPERRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
  15. [ Johnsons????? Something I dont know. I didnt think 2 smallies in 5 years counted as a smallie pond. lol

  18. LBH always goes out of his way to get a fish, What he didnt tell you was he was the bait. 10/0 hook right threw his back WACKY Style. I still have the bobber they used. ;D
  19. Upper Slatersville , Tiogue Lake look pretty full. Patchaug just over in Ct is still pretty full and was last week fishing well. Water temps are still 60 so things arent that bad. Last year RWP on 1/2/2007 gave up 20 keepers in a few hours on a xxxxxxxx Oh it iwas 69 out NOT YET>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
  20. BassinAJR, I should have a complete late 90's Motorguide 36lb except the mount and pedal we could rebuild that this winter or sooner if needed. I have rewired a few friends boats and could give you a hand with that problem.
  21. While there is an entry fee and we'd all like to win we fish for FUN.
  22. LBH That one time we went out in the Z12 I was amased at what you go through to get that thing off the trailer down a cliff and in the water. Even with the rollers. I saw a small boat on J pond this year with some sort of 2 wheels back by the small outboard. Seeing as your pushing 40 and that thing isnt getting any lighter what about making some sort of bracket with 2 lawn mower wheels that just sit a few inches below the bottom. If the bottom is getting thin by all means your aluminum angle iron is needed but think how easy that would move with a couple wheels? BTW dont ever whip his A_S the first time out on his home lake, he'll never ask's you to go agian. :'( But it did enjoy that one time ;D
  23. LBH what about looking for some clearance keel shields or keel guards. They are a stick on, we all use them on our glass boats and we routinly run then right up on shore.
  24. They stock the trout were there are ZERO BASS. :'(
  25. Well, they charge for a whole year when you can only fish six months! : 1/2/2007 70 degrees 20+ fish The only month we dont fish is Febuary and thats when we fly south for a few weeks Got to say Connecticut is tough, most states give minors 16-18 a break but CT is Adult =16 and over. 16 year old out of Stater's $40.00 "Take a kid fishing and your VISA Platnuim card in CT"
