Rigging a whopper plopper
I would use a clip over a split ring....I hat the sharp edges of a split ring.. if I was going with one, it would be an oval

Let’s talk reel maintenance
DVT did a great job on mine a couple years ago and TT was great this year. For me it is well worth the time and expense in the off season.

Casting to your left, my first post
A few years ago I found myself doing the lake clockwise. As the wind was always changing there were times that I wanted to approach things counter clockwise. After realizing the lack of accuracy, I spent much more time on the backhand cast. It doesn’t take long to improve good luck

Post a photo a day!
Fishing 42 degree water is my Achilles Heel. Got 3 like this today all on NEKO at choke points from the main lake.

Bass Recognize Line
Seeing line and processing that information as bad may be a bridge to far. Remembering it from one day to the next is even more of a stretch just my humble opinion

No feedback retrieveing a Senko
Watching the rate of fall at the boat is not the same with a long cast because of the amount of line out. 16# is also a tad heavy for finesse presentations. I use my rod to move baits 90% of the time and once you get used to it, it’s second nature. If you really want to get good, switch to braid on a couple set-ups

Reeling in fish with FC line, kind of weird
I got the same thing when I went from braid to FC for JB. I have settled on Defier and it’s a great compromise. Less stretch than many FC’s...... additionally, if your using the right rod, your drag can be snugged up a bit

Spring gloves/mitts
As age is nipping at my heals, I am finding my hands are having a hard time keeping up, especially when cold. For years I have been using mitts when droving the boat and spring/sun gloves when temps are in the 40's. It time for a change and I wonder what others are using at this time of the year to fish with. So far latex gloves with heat packs on my wrist have worked best. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance

New DC Baitcaster
Bingo I have that set-up and its awesome. I don't think you need to spring for a 20 Met, but its your money. That said, if $$ isnt an object, you can find Conquest MBR's for 400.00

How windy is too windy.
It depends.....I run a Lund Impact which is more of a multi-species boat. It is tough with the wind in open areas. Pre-Spawn usually put me on points, drop-offs and choke points....al are tough on my lake in 15 mph NW wind. When it comes from the SW, it is easier. S o your answer is....."It depends"

What's up with fluorocarbon?
Every year, I try to put mono or FC on a few more of my rigs and usually go back to braid. Matt from Tactical Bassin did a great video on braid and mostly uses braid to leader combinations.....it is worth a look-see.
