  1. https://www.alphaangler.com/collections/bait-casting-rods/products/jerkbait-fishing-rod I have this rod and use it for shallow CB and is my go to for jerks
  2. I spent some time on the Renegade last year and it was real nice! It's a lot of boat for the money. Dealers have had a hard time keeping them in stock.
  3. As you can see, your good to go. I like a 7', but your dog should hunt

Squam....no parking and not many places to weigh in?. My phone always rings around tournament day.

Welcome aboard! if you ever want to wander up to Squam, I’m your huckleberry
  6. I prefer high speed reels in everything except deep diving CB. I also believe that you can adapt to compensate for slower reels for JB. I always move the bait with the pole.....
  7. @Mbirdsley, I purchased the boat for all the reasons you mentioned as well as having small grandchildren. It is a great set up. I have done many tournaments and get that "look", but at weigh in, it disappears?. The downside for competition is that it is not as fast as bass boats, but that just changes how you prepare and the wind can push you around a little. After a short time, you figure it out. I also end up netting most fish as it a long reach to the water and 8 knees surgeries don't help. Truth be told it has not held my bass fishing back at all and has made rainy cold days on the water far more enjoyable
  8. Things got better for me when I started thinking of fishing as hunting. When hunting, it was never about the shot, but more about finding the deer
  9. Never thought about..... Our spawn usually starts just before Memorial Day. I am usually on the water when parts are still ice covered...usually the first week in April. I seldom see a lone bass. Most that are visible are pared. It doesn't answer your question, but I do fish early pre-spawn off beds. I am curious to see what others think
  10. My all time favorite is Jamaican Blue Mountain which is stupidly expensive unless you have friends on the island a few times per year.
  11. The Bantam for sure. If you want to splurge, the conquest......then leave it for your great grand kids?
  12. silver buddy hair jig
  13. The pendulum always swings to far. We will get through this and there are some good lessons learned. As a country we need to make our own ***** especially medications. We need to keep an emergency cash fund. Independence is invaluable. keep a months food in hand.....Preppers aren’t worried. Be prepared to protect what’s yours. ........most important, Marry the right gal......this mistake can make 2 weeks seam like an eternity ????
  14. Your fine! i like 10 or 12 and have even used braid. What ever works
  15. We are lucky to have great coffee shops with ultra premium roast that treat the locals right. BRCC ( Black Rifle Coffee Company) has a very good selection and delivers like clockwork if you wish. Many in my area subscribe and it’s a company worth supporting
  16. usually 5 inch but often a 6 inch trick worm ( orange or pink)
  17. This is my "compromise" boat. Last December my Mrs asked if I would rather have a pure bass boat. She suggested to wait a year and get one next winter...... ......so, wanna put a deposit on 1775 Impact and take delivery in October
  18. Many of my set-ups have old braid as backing and don't think I will ever have to change.
  19. I have a Lund impact that is more of a multi-species boat that works fine for me, but may have one similar to @A-Jay next spring
  20. If you needed it to be that versatile, my first choice would be a MH Loomis MBR. I believe I could do it all with a GLX
  21. This year the SB goes through Dallas....I know I'm in the minority, but don't bet against God's team this year ?
  22. This is one bait that initial cost doesn’t bother me as they last for ever...almost anyway?. Truth be told they are far cheaper than plastics if you account for long jevity (sp). I love my MB bone and perch
  23. I have used braid and when I did , I made sure to have it on a softer rod with drag a tad loose. If it feels good , do it. I needed line that was better for abrasion.
  24. It’s trending down here too......but not the ethanol free! The lady at the counter said not to plan on it?
