If it were me I would be looking for a used Lund Renegade. You can get away with small motors and They fish much bigger. I think you would have to find a couple more thousand though

I have 2 met DC'S and have them on my JB rod and light weight top water or light weight CB rod. They balance very well and I have never thought they were heavy......and I have had several wrist and shoulder surgeries.

Braid is good for years....and can be reversed to get more time out of it. That is why I never skimp on it

I have but it tends to be on NO wind days where the wind changes direction. it is not a big deal. I am planning on adding a second one this year.

I run spot lock and 1 talon. I don't see this as one or another, both have their purpose. The reason I only have 1 is that I would loose the use of my ladder and the Mrs didn't like that idea. This winter she has been lifting and won't have a problem pulling herself into the boat . : )

For me, I am more concerned on how it feels with a lure on it, before and after the cast. I don't think sitting in a living room is fair. I also think you need to have it spooled with the appropriate line. If there was a pole and reel that I wanted to use that was to tip heavy, I would add a butt weight. Given my wrist issues, weight is more important than balance and can't say I have experienced the latter
