Back pain woes
The first thing I would do would be to ask for oral steroids. If it eases the pain, the path to recovery is more clear

How many carry while out fishing in the boat.
That static doesn't mention how many time a person with a gun has saved others or where the presence of a gun has saved others. The FBI will publish last year's numbers mid January. When you remove gang shootings. The "good guy" numbers are statistically significant.

Back pain woes
I have crumbling L 3,4,5 vertebrae and have had multiple series of injections. They work for me and occasionally, 1 will last almost a year. Since I can't do any more damage, I am up to 12. The beauty of an ingestion is that you know almost immediately it they will work. PT is your friend as most benifit. Get the MRI and learn the extent of what you are working with.

Kayak clothing
Buy a pair of nylon dry bottoms and never worry about it again. You can find that at white-water kayak shops. They also make bibs that are even warmer

Base thermals question
I am a fan of wool blend union suits. As long as you remember that "cotton kills" you'll be fine. Just match that first layer with your activity level. For low level activities a thicker base layer is recommended

How many carry while out fishing in the boat.
I always carry so it is with me when I get to my boat, but when I fish it goes in my bag. That said, your right.....Most will never have to pull it, but you don't carry for the 99% of the time, it's the 1%. My son's a State cop and has had to draw on a handful of times.....and every time there were ordinary citizens in the proximity.

Setup for the Megabass Dark Sleeper
I like the 1/2 and throw it on a 7' M, GLX MBR, but I am not convinced that it is better than any other small swimbait

Surge brakes
Surge breaks will definitely keep the boat behind the truck where it belongs......don't ask me why I am so certain of this ?. Don't disable them!

Working to Stay Lean ~
Sorry to hear that.....It is one of those things that just takes time. When I had my shoulder rebuilt, they found a bicep tear and pec tendon tear. It was a year before things were better and it was my casting arm ?

Gloomis CR722 vs Mbr782c
The only time I would throw a 6 footer would be in a kayak or canoe. Most friend that have them are giving them to their kids. Hard to beat the GLX MBR. I have more than a couple

Rethinking Topwater Colors
When I try new top waters, I go white, black and maybe perch. if I like the bait, I may expand colors, but I truly believe black and white cover it. That said, I have a morning dawn rat that outfishes all my rats by a mile.....but it does have a white bottom

How often do you replace fishing line ?
I back everything. Braid can last year's and FC when it gets low. Last year I started using more Armilo and that will get a new life annually. Probably doesn't need it, but it will make me feel better.
