  1. I am running a 101 conquest and I believe it is 5.2 and 20-23 IPT. i used to run 6/1 but had a hard time slowing down. I love the feel of 5.2!
  2. Depends on hook selection. I have gone back to worm or offset worm and glad it did
  3. Perhaps a mod will move this to. North East fishing.......you will likely get mor replies
  4. MH/F may be the most versatile rod on the planet
  5. Corn in the gas has been a life line to ailing marinas. In some it accounts for 30% of their business, especially if it was stored in their tanks over the winter. Newer mothers handle it better, but old ones, not so much. Still can’t believe we think it’s a good idea to run motors on a food sorce
  6. Looks like little Squam could be ice free later this week, definitely by the weekend. The big lake will should be right behind.
  7. Sounds like we have a lot in common. Since I could sleep anywhere at anytime I thought I was lucky. Turn 20 lbs of muscle to fat and it’s not the case. I’m back to the high-n-tight and getting back into shape......with the exception of a bourbon and cigar ?
  8. With that deal, buy H conquest, sell it to me for 400.00, apply the profit to an avid x MHM....will send you the money upon request ?
  9. The marinas on my lake all advetise adding startron or other additives to their gas.

Yup, I just tend to go to something different in grassy areas

Square bills do much better when they are deflected. Sometimes this can be challenging from shore
  13. In add to everything listed above, I took delivery of a new ski boat and there was a change in liner........when screwing my fire extinguisher in to what I thought was an inner shell, I put 4 holes out through the gel coat. Lost my mind, my wife called the dealer to say I was on my way and not to ask what happened. Luckily I was on the Pro program and they made it good as new. 4 weeks later we were skiing on a river. When done I had to decide if I was going to get the trailer or let my wife try to back it down. Since she was a good boat driver, I got the truck. when loading the boat up stream, the stern got caught in the current and she panicked and went fist down on the throttle The boat jumped over the trailer and landed on the rocks. My insurance agent almost wet himself when I told him ?
  14. Could not be happier the DVT service. This Fall, all my reels find their way to him
  15. Finding fish is far more important that getting them to the boat. I believe the rod has more impact once on fish. The guys that cash checks are on fish more often and extra money should go to electronics. That said, when not on fish, it is more fun to cast quality gear if you can effort it. Some of the new reels can all but eliminate backlashes and casting is more fun that pulling out a birds nest. But.......once you spend an hr on a back as, you will spend more time on your technique
  16. Sounds like hair jig and jerk time. North and sunny, but still deep
  17. This isn't anything new, Just walk down the isles of BPS and you see remarkably similar knock-off. Knowing a couple folks that recieved cease and disist orders and one sued for trademark enfrigment, the big guy usually wins. Many of similar suits are settled with a liscense fee.
  18. If your looking to target them in grass, TW has a pretty good selection. I lime these for grass http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/All_Terrain_Tackle_Grassmaster_Jig/descpage-ATTGJ.html And you can reach out to @Siebert Outdoors for advise. I just placed an order with them. Top quality
  19. A non-trailerable cover will cost about 300.00 Heck, Overtons has 20% off several times a yr. Use 303 Fabric Guard
  20. People that back their Bradenton with Mono of FC do so to save money and stop slippage. Others will use all braid the first time spooling and replace the last 75-100 yards as nessessary. The theory is that longer cast are generated with braid. I used to back my braid set-up with mono and have since changed to all FC since I do take rods to the coast and want the strength of braid, right up to the moment that I get spooled. Another thing to consider is that many now are going to shallow spools, and that is reason enough to tie braid to the spool
  21. Folks, This summer my buddy and I are doing a handful of tournaments. The first could are 4 fish combined and later 8 fish combined. In talking to most of the guys, they tend to fish for limit, then look bigger. I understand this thought, but seems one should be looking large during prime time conditions. At least one should? Am I wrong?
  22. While my PBS was on a crank, fish I catch on jigs are usually bigger than average.....Truth be told, a 5-6 lb bass on my lake is big
