  1. In the summer, on my home lake, I seldom catch fish below the thermocline. I usually look for cover at the same depth and improve my chances
  2. My staples in the Summer worm for weightless worm for trig JB Med CB Jig Top water
  3. As you get better, you be be able to focus on the splash. For now learn to avoid back ash and get accurate. As your accuracy improves, you thumb improves and the splash becomes more manageable. I for one, think I have better results when they hear it’s coming ?
  4. You have no idea how much that bass is going to cost you ! ?
  5. The head goes through the side of the tube to effect how it falls. The ones that come out at 90 degrees tend to get hit on the fall, but get hung up more. The ones that come out on a 45 give up a little on the fall, but don’t get hung up as much
  6. i Have the x and representations from Loomis, MB, Shimano, and impulse......mostly top ends. Can tell you I am becoming lesser of a fan of fast and x fast rods. The x is fast but soft. you have to ask yourself if you are going technique specific of rods with a broader range. That said, the x is not the same as a GLX MBR by a long shot.....
  7. We are about 3 weeks behind last year, here in central NH got a couple moms on beds today...
  8. I run a conquest 100 6.8 It does a lot of things well and will be around a lot longer than I will
  9. Thanks for sharing!
  10. @Catt sums it up nicely. This year I went to high-vis line and while it feels like I took a shortcut, I am landing a lot more fish, with few gut hooked. edit.....on the fall, I keep the top of my pointer finger touching the line as line moves before the tip of the rod
  11. Not to muddy the water, but you may want to consider https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-LNESUNLINE.html?from=basres i love the 11 lb
  12. Welcome aboard....love seeing young men in the hobbies,,,,,,not enough of that anymore!
  13. Look for mid 60’s Gillette fat boys and buy safety blades. Nothing like old school shaves...and a heck of a lot cheaper than multi-blades. .....but don’t kid yourself, chicks dog a furry face, especially a white one ?
  14. Gents Anyone know of a basic app for culling. Looks like the popular ones are no longer available through the App Store. Thanks

  18. ........timely thread, my partner swapped out all his trebles over the Winter and his hookup ratio is through the roof. ......slightly expensive yes, but only hurts once
  19. You ask for opinions. You get opinions . Then you say you respect others opens more. Since there is no universal rules on flex, both can be right. I have an impulse top water that many say is a noodle, and I say it is perfect for my purpose. ........on a side note, expanding your budget slightly will greatly improve your option, but I am sure you realize this already
  20. It happens, but not as much when you work on the space between your ears. I tend to see more of it when I am consciously are targeting bigger fish.
  21. Vmax tanks can be purchased at a discount if it is your first purchase with them. Think it was the MR 137. On a side note, I added an alternator to my cranking battery and it provides enough charge on my return trip to almost fully charge my TM batteries
  22. Keep hydrogen peroxide on board....youtube it..... I like disposable bags because the higher quality one all stink eventually. I think cull tags and scales help efficiency instead of ice use frozen water in quart containers
  23. Regardless of the pfd you buy, you need to know how to get back in the boat and practice it when the water warms.. I am serious.......hypothermia has killed guys in pfd’s that could not get back in.
  24. My larger than average fish have been at dusk but my PB’s have been mid day sunny days. Fish when you can
