We broke down and bought a pontoon. We leave it in the water all the time which is nice because we can just grab our poles, walk out the back door, hop on, and we’re fishing. Yesterday was yard work day, after that I smoked some tenderloin, after that me, the wife, and 6poundbass grabbed our poles, hopped on the pontoon, and went fishing for a little bit. I got skunked, the wife got her first of the year, and 6poundbass hauled 3 in, including this guy. Many more family fishing nights to come.

Anybody find it odd timing when the Ray Rice deal and a couple other domestic issues were everywhere in the news then ‘deflate gate’ showed up and the domestic issues went bye bye?

PB&J Sandwich
Not at all. I love pb&j! My favorite was my grandma’s homemade strawberry jam, freshly picked from her garden and homemade every summer. I was the youngest grandchild and lived the closest to her so naturally I got the most and I’d keep jars frozen to make it through the year.

Who whould’ve thunk it that a thread about PB&J would make it 2 pages and over 620 views! ?

Kentucky Has a New State Record Largemouth
Got it by a pound too. Did anybody else scroll down and click on the link that said “man killed by exploding tire”? That’s an unusual way to go, that’s for sure.

Cheaper than the real one. 3599 pieces?! We got a Lego Technic dragster for our son for Christmas. That was his first Technic and we both like putting it together and liked the finished product. We didn’t realize until we started to put it together that it actually goes, and is pretty quick too. I think he’ll be getting more Technics in the future.

That’s my first smallie lake I’m hitting. Maybe I’ll get a turkey Saturday and hit lake X Sunday.

We put the boat in our lake yesterday and after everyone left my son and I got out for a couple hours. He got skunked, I got my first of the year. Nothing to write home about but it was a score able bass. Unfortunately I think I might miss the smallie pre spawn bite. Turkey hunting the next two weekends.

BPT - Affect on local Team Tourneys?
Listen to this part of your brain. It’s all marketing. If they didn’t come up with a new angle to tournament fishing how could they even stand a chance to last more than a year? Others have tried and failed. Now they have a different format they stand a chance. Over playing the angle is marketing. We see it in every aspect of our lives. Your favorite TV show gives you a tid bit of action then cuts to the commercials. Advertising same deal.

gas for heating / cooking / advantage ?
Wow! I hadn’t heard about this one. You are right about the old fuel oil furnaces they like everything else back then we’re built like tanks. I remember one specific oil furnace we swapped out this this was over 40 years old! The heat fire pot was huge and thick steel. It took us several hours to cut that thing up just to get it out of the basement. The fuel oil tanks would be my big worry too. I get several jobs each year where a homeowner is selling their house and before they can those old tanks if not in use need to be removed. If one of them has leaked....you might as well take it off the market.

The best thing to do that Really helped me out was to turn on your DV and 2d at the same time and when a fish shows up on 2d which typically is easy to see, you should be able to see what it looks like on DV. They typically show up as little bright colored dots. On SV it’s sometimes easier to see the shadow the fish cast rather than the actual fish.

gas for heating / cooking / advantage ?
Your example echos what I’m was saying. Human error is the main cause of gas (since there was a tank I’d assume it was propane) explosions. Anyone that works with or around gas should have the proper training and know that flipping a light switch or turning anything on is a big no no. Every three years I’m required to get re-qualified to on gas, I imagine that’s a national standard.

I’ll bet the Mrs. doesn’t like it though.

gas for heating / cooking / advantage ?
Maybe I can ease your mind a little bit about explosions. I’m a utility locator. I’m a contract locator for the largest natural gas company in Michigan. Most of the explosions you read about or see on tv are from a damaged gas main or service outside the house. The main reason the house/building explodes is because the gas that’s leaking underground seeps into the sewer which finds it’s way to the house. Just last week in North Carolina a contractor hit a gas main while boring underground and hit the gas main, the gas made it’s way into a strip mall and caused an explosion killing one and injuring over a dozen. My point is very very rarely do houses explode because of a gas leak inside the house. Almost always gas explosions are due to human error or total negligence. There are plenty of other things that will kill you in your house way before gas does. Hopefully this helps.
