I don't what kind of weather you guys are having in NY but I can't imagine it's better ice producing weather than Michigan so it's kinda crazy somebody would try it out! We were having good weather for it and probably could've been out before Christmas if things would've stayed the same, but we got 8 inches of snow which acts as insulation and slows ice production way down. Most of our lakes are covered with ice and snow, so maybe to the untrained person they see snow covered lake with just below freezing temps and think it's safe.

You're right they don't. But they have Quickdraw so you can create you own maps.

Agree fully with @A-Jay. I have 3-4 seasons on some and 2-3 on others. It'll last forever.

I was running the snow blower yesterday at 6 am. It was a balmy -4. Actually broke a sweat.

froni was just looking at my Tracker book and I compared this boat to the Pro 160. This boat is 6 inches longer 8 inches wider on the bottom 6 inches wider at the beam Retail for the Pro 160 is $11,995! That's a heck of a deal actually! The only thing I'm scratching my head about is a cover for the 175 TXW is $475 so why is the one for the heritage $700? Because it's free?

With all the snow we got in the last 24-36 hrs nobody is going to be on the ice anytime soon. That's for the lakes with a small layer of ice anyways, it'll slow them down. Maybe the open lakes will produce quicker.

It would be interesting to see if they come with other motor options or if it's an all or nothing package. So these HP restricted lakes (which I've never heard of until joining this site) you can't put a bigger motor in and just idle? What is the purpose of a HP restricted lake? We have "no wake" lakes here (very few) which everyone respects.

I don't doubt they'll be popular. It's a pretty good deal for a boat like that, plus the cover, plus a $400 gift card to Bass Pro/Cabelas. I didn't see any specs on it, I'm guessing it's a 16'?

Anybody seen the new 40th anniversary boat? It's a great price at $9995, but the "chocolate Brown" carpet and seats aren't my cup of tea. I know it's a throw back boat, but whoa those colors are ugly. The hub caps are cool though. LOL For you guys who lived and remember the 70's do you look back and cringe at the browns, yellows, and pea greens used all over the place? Those were some hideous colors. ?

How does it work with the top guys when they have a camera crew with them? When they're recording you rarely if ever see the Marshal, I'm guessing that's by design. Or does the ESPN camera guy act as the Marshal?

It sure is amazing how well you could see. Pretty cool too when you are staring at your decoy and a pike sneaks in and scares you. They guy I went with used sucker minnows, the minnow would usually tip you off ahead of time something was coming. I wonder if Cisco are like Smelt. Smelt dipping is pretty big in northern Michigan in the spring and the winter. Guys will come from hundreds of miles away to go smelt fishing at night through the ice. They're pretty good eating that's for sure!

That wouldn't be too bad. My brother in law caught a 45.5" 25lb pike off a tip up that looks like it would've been a riot. Another thing to consider that I enjoyed was spear fishing. I never got one, but it was fun sitting in a shanty over a huge hole just watching fish swim around not even aware that I was just above them.

Can you see the other transmission tower behind the front one? You can't? It's only 500 feet away! It was fun getting down my road. Company truck is only 2-wheel drive, 6" and drifting, and road won't be plowed until tomorrow. Don't let off the gas until you get close to your house. Lol
