  1. Welcome aboard. I tank every year so you don't have to worry about me taking anything from ya.
  2. I'm not worried about it. ? lol
  3. I'm not saying El Salto is unsafe I'm not even sure where in Mexico it is. What I'm saying is there have been incidents in Mexico with the cartel and anglers. The fact of the matter is Mexico is pretty much a lawless land where the cartel pays off police, judges, and politicians. It has gotten better over the years but there still is a problem. My whole point was for anyone going down there to do research before you go. I'm not saying I'd never go, I'd just research before I go.
  4. He's not making things up. There have been anglers murdered on I believe Falcon and Amistad. They weren't into drugs. If you're cruising around in a bass rig you could be a target. You can easily find these stories on line. It's not frequent but it has happened.
  5. That's a nice fish! ?
  6. Keep in mind that Tracker is the number 1 selling boat so naturally they will get more press good or bad than most. Have there been issues? Yup! Have most been addressed? Yup. Best thing to do is check any boat out you like or in your price range good press or bad and trust your gut. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Good luck!
  7. Thank you all for your sacrifices you've made for us and our country to give us the freedom to be able to do the things we do on a daily basis!
  8. Oops! Lol looks like I jumped on too soon! Lol
  9. Maybe sirsnookalot uses dial up internet and it just went through? ?
  10. That makes 22!! Awesome!
  11. I'd go with the Tracker too. Seems a little bit steep, does says or best offer. I'd start at 7k and go up from there.
  12. Holy smokes that's a nice one from south of the border. Your 7 pounder was super nice! If you got it out of a trout lake that says a lot right there. I read a long time ago that's what they feed the bass in California is trout. So if your 7 pounder is munchin on trout all day and she only gets to 7 pounds, that says a lot right there. What I wouldn't give to tie into a 7 pound bass in Michigan. Way to go!
  13. Life doesn't get much better than this!
  14. I know you said south east south west but up in the central part of the state (Montcalm county) there are plenty of small lakes with little to no boat traffic. This is pretty much all I fish for now is little state land lakes or small public access lakes. Nine times out of ten I'm the only boat on them. Peace and quiet, scenery is great, fishing is awesome, and no boat traffic! Absolutely perfect for me! Good luck in your search.

  16. The current state record in Michigan for largemouth is 11lbs 15oz (hence my name) it was set in the 30's? On a lake less than 20 minutes from my house, either way it got me thinking. My PB is 5.5. A 12lb bass in Michigan is un fathomable to me! However I heard years ago that the DNR shocked a lake in my area and there was a state record in there. I took it as hear say, then a couple years ago I was talking to a park ranger and he said the same thing about a lake that's attached to the one I had heard about 10 or so years ago! Urban legend, bs, possible? What have you caught as far as LM's go? What have you heard other people catch? Do you think there are 10 pounders in Michigan? Do you think this 80+ year old record will ever be broken? Thanks and fish on!
  17. You too, and welcome to Bass Resource!
  18. My son's first smallie, my wife's biggest so far 5lbs 2oz
  19. I'm willing to bet if you look really close (I haven't) at his electronics they could very well be Humminbird. If you listen to the host once in a while he mentions the anglers are using Nitro Z-9's. That's not entirely true Ike is sponsored by Basscat Hackney Phoenix look close and you'll see neither are in Nitro's. It's quite possible KVD is using Lowrance I haven't looked, but wouldn't be surprised if it were a couple birds on his rig.
  20. I'm guessing the Shishamo was found on the same site where the Abu Garcia Black Max is on sale for $75 marked all the way down from $350! True story. That's one heck of a steal! I read some place the gear ration is the same as the fuel ratio on my weed eater....50:1. And the line retrieval is 120"! What will they think of next?
  21. So then that rules out the knee ordeal.
  22. Not sure when it was taped. He had his surgery a couple days after AOY. He almost lost his leg.
  23. You'll be very happy with it, and I'm willing to bet impressed at how stable they are. Enjoy!
  24. No experience with the spinning reel but if they perform as well as the pro max casters they're well worth it! I have 4 pro max baitcasters and I love them. Abu Garcia for Life! Lol
  25. Just a thought, what about using cedar? I know it costs more, but it naturally resists rot and decay. There seems to be a big confusion with pressure treated and wolmanized wood. A quick google search does clear it up, however after working at a lumber yard for several years as a "kid" I wouldn't have trusted me back then if Some one said I need pressure treated wood or wolmanized wood. Especially a big box store especially if it's a matter of my tin boat developing holes over the years. Whether they were educated in the difference between the two or not (kid or adult). That's a chance I'm not willing to take. So would cedar be an alternative? If so I think it would be money well spent for some peace of mind. Just a thought.
