Drowning A Worm

I recently bought a diawa lexa 100, which were discontinued. I fished it for about 2 months before the tension knob went missing. I can't find a replacement anywhere (not even diawas website). Looking to be led in the right direction to purchase another one. Any help is appreciated!

We have a pool that opens up and drops to 10 ft. There is current in the mouth and then tons of still water. There is a giant rock pile under a bridge and then large rock along the edge. Today we fished break lines, still deep holes and along the edge by the large rock. We slow rolled spinnerbaits, fished Ned rigs and nekos rigs and beat the banks with crankbaits. We caught a bunch of pike and one rock bass. The river usually has very very few pike so it puzzles me even more

I went out today and caught pike, drum, and rockies. A couple dink smallies but nothing work talking about. We hit every spot on the river for half a mile. Im sure they're in those spots, just can't get em to bite

For some reason they won't eat moving baits in muddy water, I didn't think of black and blue jig tho. Thanks

I fish a river that's loaded with smallmouth during the summer. Last year I caught tons of fish from July- September, catching 40 fish was nothing. However this year with all of the rain the fishing has been terrible, the river is fast and muddy. Finding the fish really seems to be my problem, I have 1 hole that usually produces a fish or two, but even then it's hard. It seems like they only want bottom finesse rigs, I have only been able to catch them on a Neko rig. Any help would be nice, thanks

I'd definitely agree with mis-assembled, the way Lew's makes their spinning reels it's a pain in the ass. I'll try it again tho

I have a Lew's speed spin Mach 1, line got wrapped inside the skeleton so my dad took it apart and unwrapped the line. Now the anti reverse won't work and my bail won't engage. Had a problem with it skipping but it was just ordering of the bearings. Any help would be appreciated

Water is cold in the Midwest still, high 40's do I'm doing alot of finesse fishing. I fish alot of dropshots so I thought I'd try something new and fished a shaky head today. Never really got this many bites but I can't hook any fish. Caught 1 out of 10 bites, finally had a really good bite and my knot broke on the hookset. I think it's from my tag end freying. Any tips? Might just shorten my leader and use a barrel swivel or switch back to a dropshot

Depends on water depth. If you go out try jerkbaits, drop shot, shakey head...etc basically anything you can fish slow

Starting with lures. Many times lure selection is extremely important, depending on pressure and fish size, they're usually extremely picky, but when you find what they want it's hot and heavy. For topwater: Poppers, heddon tiny torpedos and buzzbaits are usually effective. Black is my favorite all around color. Crankbaits usually anything that dives halfway up the water column works best. They never worked well for me when I fished closer to the bottom. Good cranks are the KVD 1.0, 1.5 and smaller Flickr shads Xrap xr-8s are expensive but they are really good for both size and numbers Good colors are pink,clown, and hot steel. Drop shot is an amazing bait when the bites tough, any finesse worm around 6 inches works good (can switch out with a split shot rig) Shaky head craws catch fish anywhere, anytime. I like 1/8 ounce heads with a 3 inch green pumpkin chigger craw. Wacky rigs are the best numbers rig. 4 inch watermelon candy was the ticket for me. There are many other lures you'll find to like after doing a little exploring. If you can find hellgrammites they're killers. In the hottest days of summer are going to be your best days, but spring and fall you have to use dropshot, finesse craws, and jerkbaits if you want to get bit. For areas current breaks are your best friend. Anywhere where there's a big change from fast water to slow pools will be your most productive spots. It pushes baitfish and provides cooler water. Bridge pilings are always good, as well. My biggest fish came out of my rivers "pond". The river pooled up into fairly deep water and I caught a lot of big fish. If you see foam on top of the water give it a try. Those are general rules but every river is different so it's all about exploring

Does your tributary have a dam at all?

Creek smallies were a new find for me this last year, but they just randomly left the river late-summer. Water temps were still in the 70s so I'm not sure why they left. Looking for info on the migration patterns.

Yup I normally fish them in pools so depth isn't a problem but rusty craw is my most productive color

Always fished spinning reels, even for heavier duty techniques. I just recently bought a baitcaster but the brakes are garbage. The tension knob makes a difference but don't understand why there are both if they serve the same purpose

Had the idea of glueing my connector knots from braid to fluorocarbon, will it do damage to the line?
