Did you ever find a source/replacement for the spool tension knobs?

I was looking at Academy's website tonight and saw that the Mettle was selling in a combo for $33.97 (reg $79.99) which is $26 less than just the reel and decided to get that. I'm trying to decide between a Pflueger President and a H2O XPRESS Mettle spinning reel. Just about everyone seems to agree that the President is a solid reel for the price but I can't find much info on the Mettle. I have a Mettle baitcast reel that I love so I'm leaning toward the Mettle spinning reel. Just checking if anyone can provide a recommendation. I usually use Trilene XT mono. When I get a snag that won't come loose, I point the rod toward the snag and reel it tight. Then I hold the line tight to the rod above the reel with my hands and give it a quick jerk. This usually breaks the line at or near the lure. If I give it a slow pull, the line usually just stretches and doesn't break.

I think of it as the smell of success. You have to enjoy that!

Berkley PowerBait Floating Power Trout Worm are really good and would work on a #6 hook. Pink shad works best where I fish. You can use 1/2 or even 1/4 of a worm and catch pumpkinseed or bluegill . The Johnson Beetle Bou Marabou Jigs 1/32 oz. are pretty good too. I like the Red/Chartreuse/White.

Some of it is still pretty confusing. The top 3 anglers from the 3rd cup event (Patriot Cup) and 4th cup event (Challenge Cup) are supposed to participate in the Championship event (Redcrest), but Redcrest happens before the two cup events. How can that be? Also, what point system are they using to determine the top 30 for each cup event? I can't find any explanation of that.

That's what I was thinking. I frequently catch 20" to 22" pickerel. My biggest in 2017 was 25". I don't know how much it weighed, maybe 5 or 6 lbs, but I'm sure it wasn't even close to the world record of 9 lbs, 6 oz.
