Bass Aren't Following The Rules In West Virginia
Would this possibly be Woodrum Lake? Is so, I live close to 2 hours away and suppose to be headed that way hopefully in a few weeks with a friend of mine from Huntington. Woodrum is know for quality fish (14"-18")and plenty of them. I haven't seen a monster from there yet but I would catch those all day long and not complain. Even if this wasn't at Woodrum, that looks like a great day of fishing. Very nice job guys!

How Do I Know What The Hatch Is?
Back in my younger days, I use to throw a lot of chartreuse baits and oddball colors such as pink and bright orange worms. Although I did catch fish with the different than the norm colors, an older and wiser fishing buddy told me that I would increase my catch ratio if I would stick with more natural colors and not to buy into all the gimmicks. Well, the ol man was right. I started catching more and better quality fish. Just my opinion: If it looks like a baitfish, crawfish, frog, minnow, bluegill or anything else that looks like a food source, bass will more than likely hit it no matter the color. That's why I buy the same bait in several different, more natural patterns. I do a lot of Senko worm fishing. If my normal black/blue flake isn't producing, I will switch over to a black/watermelon red or green pumpkin and it may pay off.

Fantasy Fishing
I bombed with only 890 points but feel confident on my Okeechobee picks. But, Holy Cow, Group E is loaded with Florida boys like Shaw Grigsby, but also Skeet Reese and Chris Lane in the group as well. This is a tough group to make a pick. I'm still undecided in Group A but like my choice so far. Good Luck everyone for round two. Here comes my comeback.........lol

Fantasy Fishing
What the heck!!! I'm in too. I made my picks before I joined the group. Will my picks carry over to the group?

Favorite Monafilament Line ?
I have seen the Sufix Elite and they also have it in my favorite low visibility green. I was thinking about giving it a shot.

Favorite Monafilament Line ?
I'm looking to buy a larger spool of monofilament line to use for my bass fishing baitcasters and spinning outfits. I usually use the Berkley Trilene XT in the low visibility green but it gets harder and harder to find in my local tackle stores. I just cant justify buying Flurocarbon or braid when I have never had problems fishing with my 10# or 12# mono. Most of the lakes that I fish do have grass and timber and a few rock bluffs. Any suggestions on your favorite line would be appreciated.

Zebco 33 Spinning Reel
It is more of a sentimental buy. I actually talked myself out of it thinking the same thing as others mentioned. That's 5 packs of Senkos. (lol) I still have my spincast 33 and I keep it with all my other big boy rods and reels just to stare at and bring back memories.

Zebco 33 Spinning Reel
Has anyone else seen or used the Zebco 33 Black Spinning combo? The spincast 33 takes me back to my youth but I saw this spinning outfit and my local tackle store and my curiosity got me. There is no doubt that most of us used a Zebco 33 spincast at one time in their life but I'm a wondering if this spinning outfit is any count? I mean its only $40.00 but I'm almost enticed to buy one

fishing log
I use Ifish Kentucky app for My IPhone. It keeps it petty basic but I really enjoy the app so I can reflect on where I was at the previous year.

Strange things that have happened while bass fishing.
This isn't too strange but my fishing partner and I had this family of ducks following us for at least 3 hours while we fished an entire feeder creek one Saturday.

What lure caught your biggest bass of 2016?
3" Solid Black Senko at Dale Hollow Lake in November in less than two ft of water in heavy grass and 6#test line. It was a fight......lol

My absolute most fun lure to fish is........
I bought four of these silver buddies before I went to Dale Hollow Lake and came back with only one in the tackle box...lol I had high hopes on hooking a smallie on one but I must have found too much under water cover. Theres three in the bottom of the lake now

My absolute most fun lure to fish is........
My absolute most fun lure to fish is........ my Booyah Pad Crasher Frogs. The most fun that I have on a lake or pond is throwing my frog into the thickest of lilys or grass and bringing it through the holes and to the edges anticipating that splash!!!! Whats yours?

Your 2017 Fishing Goals
My main goal for fishing in 2017 is to learn more techniques and try different lures. I seem to always use my traditional baits that I have success with even when the bite is slow. I blame it on the Senko because that lil worm is addicting...lol Goals: 1) Learn and practice the pitching and flipping tech 2) drop shot 3) use more swim baits 4) perfect my knot tying.......geez oh petes, this haunted me all year. This needs to be priority 1 ..lol 5) another goal of mine will take more than a year but I want a good start on fishing more of Kentuckys other lakes than just the ones in my area. I went to Dale Hollow for the first time and had a ball. So, this is more of a bucket list item, but fish more Kentucky lakes

The most popular lure you've never used
This topic fits right in with my 2017 Fishing Resolution: Its always been hard for me to try new things when I stay consistent and catch bass with my Senkos, crankbaits, booyah frog and spinnerbaits. But I have spent the off season buying some tackle that's different for me. So my 2017 Fishing Resolution is to learn and use the following: 1) Ned Rig (although I have fished grubs on lead heads) 2) Drop Shot 3) Fluke 4) the umbrella rig

Yatesville Lake Ky
Unfortunately, my work schedule only allows weekends most of the time. I haven't tried night time fishing for bass yet. I may have to put that on my list.
-
Yatesville Lake Ky
I know this post was started in 2013 but I guess this would be considered my home lake. There is still a lot of good fish being caught out of here all year long but the fishing pressure is unreal. At least two tournaments every weekend in the Spring through late Autumn. It has a variety of different covers to fish from but mine would be the flooded timber areas.

Perfect Senko Size??
I'm new to the forum and I think that its ironic that this is my first post after the year I'm having. I had been out of fishing for awhile and just got back into it again this year. My fishing buddy introduced me to the Senko. This is by far my go to bait for bass. I usually use the 5" and my partner usually uses the 4". We have been catching fish all year long on both. I have caught everything from a 3-1/2 pounder to a 6-7" bass on the 5" Senko. My partner has done the same with a 4" Senko. He seems to get more hook-ups on the 4" where I missed quite a few with the 5". We both use 3/0 hooks I just recently purchased the 3" Senko yesterday to try out at Dale Hollow for some smallies.......wish me luck!!
