Help With Humminbird
Arches are all about time and distance of a sonar echo. Do you understand why/how a LCR sonar unit "draws" an arch when it diplays stuff suspended in the water column? If not refer to the Lowrance web site and their sonar tutorial.

Powhatan Lakes Any Good?
There is another lake no one has mentioned, Nottoway Lake. It is closer to Richmond than Sandy River Res. or Briery Creek Lake. It is the smallest that allows up to a 10 HP gas outboard. Some standing timber and dollar pads.

Depth Finder Question
The most difficult part of it is routing the transducer cable. The best way to handle that is tie and tape a string to the current transducer cable at the plug--make that connection as straight as you can so it doesn't get hung up in the cable and wires in the hull, pull out the transducer cable, then tie and tape the new transducer cable plug to the string and pull it in. Tie another string to it before you pull in the new cable so you will have a pull string for any future installations.

Low - Lake Of The Woods (Orange/locust Grove, Va)
No, the boat was in 28.5 feet of water, the top of the dam is shallower and on the left side of the image. I don't remember the exact depth but it is about 10' The left side vertical narrow ridge that the beds are located on is the top of the dam and is on the far left side of the left half of the image. The black area to the left and right of the center line is the water column.

Interference Or Transducer Location....?
No the SI transducer has to be on the exterior. So does the SS transducer.

Interference Or Transducer Location....?
For those that do not know, your setup is typical for high performance pad hull bass boats. I am at Lake Fork this week and every set up for Humminbird SI and Lowrance SS is the similar to yours. The boat I am fishing in has his SI transducer in the center of his hole shot plate. He is using the Y cable and shoot thru 2D transducer. It is a Triton.

Interference Or Transducer Location....?
You are getting echos from the inside of the left side of the jackplate. A holeshot plate will prevent it if you find those lines objectionable
-
Interference Or Transducer Location....?
Do you have a holeshot plate on you jack plate? Those lines are on SI also. You will see them on the left side of the center line if you set the SI range to less than 50 feet.

Interference Or Transducer Location....?
Top speed is about 12mph. Best images 0-6 when installed to do so and adjusted properly. The slower the better. The thin imaging pulse has to be on a subject as the screen is scrolling so it can be recorded.

Interference Or Transducer Location....?
He stated it was on his jackplate. Do you know what that is?
-
Interference Or Transducer Location....?
Propwash is impossible with your installation unless you have the motor in reverse. What you have is no water on the transducer when you are getting the black streaks. That is caused by going too fast with the mount location you have.

Lake Fork
Thanks, I am very familiar with Fork during this time of year. My best tournament fish there is 10# 5 oz. I took this picture a couple of years ago, when the water level was lower, of a skeg broken off in a stump.
