Bassin Blvd, there is a saltwater show on the Versus network now with them catching sword fish. The recommendation by the show personnel recommends using braid because of its small diameter and being able to put a large quantity on the big reels for those hard fighing fish. The rod being used does not have roller guides. It took 1 1/2 hours to get the fish in from the depth of 2,000'.

Davo, all of my prescription polarized lenses are not "coated" with the polarization film. That film is sandwiched between two layers of the lense material. Cheap glasses may have the polarization film on the surface of the lense and over time will wear or scratch and become useless. Finding frames that have side glare protection has been a problem for me since the wrap-around type frames will not work with my presciption.

I use the 4600 C-3 and C-4 for spinnerbaits mostly and have no problem throwing 1/8 oz baits with 50#braid.

Everstart, Walmart and Sam's Club carry them. With the proper maintenance they should last about 5 years. About $62 for the group 27 size.

Clean braid will not and cannot harm quality guides, its Gel Spun Polypropylene (a thermoplastic polymer). Braids used in muddy water a lot will get the small particles of sediment embedded (usually silica) and that will wear into rod guides over time.

I use Original Stren, McCoy, Stren Super Braid, Fireline, Spiderwire Braid, Spiderwire Stealth, XPS Fluorocarbon, and Stren Magnathin. Speed Clips: I have lost lures using them, but I still use them for their convenience. For me, they are the most difficult to use when my fingers are cold. I also use other styles of snaps and have lost lures with them too. The only snap that I haven't lost lures with is the Coast Lock style, but they are more difficult to use with small line tie lures.

Exchange the transduce for a trolling motor/in-hull model and install it in the bilge. You can do the same with the supplied transducer, but the flat face of the trolling motor one is easier to do.

I just remembered something that was mentioned at the Expo yesterday by the last presenter at the Hawg Trough. He asked where is the most pressured body of water. After several answers that no one named correctly, he said "the Hawg Trough". For three days and several hours each day, the bass had seen the same presentations numberous times. Kevin Van Dam, Dean Rojas, and some local guides had held seminars on that super clear "body of water". As he was finishing up his presentation and demonstrating lures, each presentation, drop shot, Senko, swimbait, spinnerbait, and crankbait got several strikes from the bass with several following that lost the race to hit it. I saw Dean Rojas do his Kermey demo on two different days. The bass kept taking it . There was a small school of baitfish in the tank Sunday that was fed to the bass that morning and the bass would even go thru the baitfish school to hit lures either on the surface, below them, or at the same level. Them bass must have been "good ole boys" ;D

Don't just focus on potential negatives. PETA is pretting good at that. Include the positives of fishing, one of which is to help with the overall health of the fish by reducing the population so they won't decline due to lack of food.

You haven't mentioned the shifting mechanism you are considering. You need that whether you use a hot foot or not.

You may find individual parts at Radio Shack. Some cartrige fuse holders have threaded caps and some have bayonet caps.

A wrap with no graphics should be a lot cheaper especially if you install it yourself.

The material that is used for boat and vehicle wraps is what would work. Just do a "boat wrap" internet search for a local dealer.

Bass seem to avoid some of the noisy, flashy, hard baits after being exposed to them a lot. They seen to not remember being caught with soft plastics.

The only blade bait I use is the Silver Buddy. I vertical jig it and bottom bounce it after a long cast. It is one of the most productive cold water baits. The fish prefer the gold color in 1/4 oz. and 1/2 oz.

Speaking of new braids, has anyone used Daiwa Samurai Braid? I never heard of it before this weekend.? I was in the Daiwa booth at the Richmond Expo and noticed a multi-color braid on a large spool. After a few questions about it the rep. mentioned smaller spools in a solid color were available. When I read the label, it had the same diameter to pound test as the second generation Spiderwire 6/30 which was my favorite until they made it fatter as 8/30 which is like Power Pro, Suffix, and a few more. The Samurai is an eight-braid weave which gives it a smoother finish and maybe the Fireline Braid is the same constuction. The price is about what Spiderwire 6/30 used to be when it was first marketed.

You must install the transducers incorrectly. I've seen functioning units up to 92MPH for shoot thru installations and 64MPH for transom mounts. Thats for Lowrance, Humminbird, Bottom Line, and Garmin units.

The "available" 6 amp alternator will recover 6A at 12V of battery usage by running the outboard for the same length of time you discharged the battery at that rate. 6A may be the lowest speed setting of your trolling motor.
