You should use the proper transducer for the application, a trolling motor PUCK. The correct one is the XTM 9 DI 25 T. It needs no adaptor and it has extra internal shielding to help with possible RFI from the trolling motor. Exchange the transom model for the trolling motor model. Do your installation correctly the first time.

That means it comes with a Dual Beam 2D sonar transducer and can support a HDI transducer IF you buy one and attach it. That is way it is cheaper= cheaper transducer.

Yes, but only for the Sonar Charts feature. The extra gimmick stuff like 3D, Satellite Overlay, and photos is not worth it. Navionics+ would be a better choice since it has Nautical Charts and Sonar Charts. Plus it is not regional. You can download waters anywhere in the US and Canada. Hotmaps Premium and Hotmaps Platinum are preloaded and regional Navionics+ comes with no maps, you choose what to put on the card.

IF you have the U shaped metal transom bracket, just bend the ends out some so they match the trolling motor shape and put a hose clamp through the screw slots. Use the same parts you have. Then after you break off the transducer, you can get the Transducer Shield and Saver mount to make it a puck.

The Sonarphone comes with an arm band to hold a smartphone.

The Vexilar Sonarephone is a similar product and it works with Navionics mapping and GPS.

The 788ci HD Combo is 2D only. The 788ci HD DI Combo is equivalent to the Helix 5 DI GPS, both would have 2D sonar and Down Imaging. I would choose the Helix to get Down Imaging.

Humminbird and Minnkota will talk to each other via iPilot Link and follow a selected contour line on Lakemaster mapping software. You need an electric steer Minnkota with the iPilot Link accessory.

If you bought a Navionics card in the last 4-5 years it is a microSD inside a SD adaptor like the black card here:. The blue one was prior to 2010 and is a SD.

Put the excess cable in parallel runs about 10" long. Don't make sharp bends. Then tie it up so it stays that way. If you state what unit you have and how you have it installed, maybe someone can help you with the adjustments.

You can also see it with the unit operating by selecting SYSTEM STATUS that is turned off by Default. That is in the View menu.

Alabama and Tenn are in separate regions--South and East. If you want both, the Navionics+ version should be your choice unless you want to buy two regional cards.

The Navionics Hotmaps Premium is available for regions. get the one that has the waters you fish. The South region has Georgia.

Some that have the 48V, 60V. or 72 V electric outboards use the golf cart 6V batteries for their amp capacity.

Your math is flawed. Two parallel 6V batteries is 6V. None one makes a 6V trolling motor. Put them in series and you will have 12V.

Just the factory Default settings work great for most conditions. Plus for Imaging, use a Charf Speed that matches the GPS speed. For the SI range, use a setting that is three times the depth for the best detail. Use a longer range for general searching. Choose an Imaging color that you can see the best according to the ambient light. Video game fishing is done with 2D sonar, use the 83/200 kHz setting. Check your Humminbird account for a new software version.

You can do all of that with two Humminbird 899ci HD SI Combos, two Ethernet adaptors (AS EC QDE) and an Ethernet cable ( AS EC 20E).

It is a digital readout that you select to display if you have the choice to not display it. There are not many choices with that unit if any. The Helix 5 DI GPS model would have more digital readouts.

Yes, they are the same frequency tuned. 83/200 kHz It will not support a Humminbird Down Imaging unit or Side Imaging unit so in the Humminbird 600 series it would be the 688ci HD Combo or the 678c HD. For the Helix 5 series it would be either the Helix 5 Sonar or Helix 5 Sonar GPS
