Cutting the cord/MLF To Go
I did the free trial too and forgot to cancel. I have it for the next month now

What is the most versatile line for my lures?
Braid for the frog. Look into Sunline Defier Armilo for the rest. Or you can always go with Yo-Zuri Hybrid to save some cash.

Trokar Hooks
Good, seriously sharp hooks, but will tear apart your plastics quick. I used them for a while but switched to Owner twist locks.

Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
I've been slumping a bit lately so decided to switch some gear around. Took the CT off the Mojo jig rod and put it on the Tatula frog/pitching rod where it belongs.Took off the Yo-Zuri and put the 832 on it.Took the "grey reel" off the Tatula and put it on the Mojo and spoiled it up with 13# Defier Armilo.Tied the Spro 30 rat on the Mojo and pegged a 1/2oz weight to the Rage Bug. Landed 4 fish in the 2# range in 30 minutes. 2 on each rod.I guess change is good sometimes.Ill be keeping them setup this way for a while I think.

What's your style?
It all depends on how much time i have. If i only have an hour or so,I will run and gun to hit a bunch of spots. If i have 3-4 hours i typically spend an hour or more in one spot picking it clean before moving to the next spot, regardless of if i'm catching them or not.

Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
I'll be hitting Highland lake in Norfolk after work today. Going to peg a 1/2oz weight to a Rage Bug and attack the water chestnut pads. First time I've encountered them was this year.Going to learn how fish that vegetation if it kills me lol. Hopefully I'll get to see what the Daiwa Tatula rod has the backbone legends are made of.Frogging over this stuff had proved useless so far.I finally played with the Spro rat 30 too.Man that thing looks awesome in the water.

Frogging in water chestnut
So I found this new spot on the lake. Along the bank there are about 8 or so really nice spots to fish from. 3 of them are nice and clear,so I can throw swim jigs, wakes and any treble hooked baits. The "fun" spots are loaded with water chestnut mats. I have been trying to frog in them and have gotten a ton of hits(not going under, just being poked at) so I cant get a hook up. I was reading that under the mats are just as big of a mess as what is on top of the water. For those of you that fish this type of vegetation,am I wasting my time triong to frog in this or am I better off trying to pitch a weighted beaver style bait to get in the heart of the junk. I have never had trouble hooking up in pads and floating milfoil,so I was kind of thinking that the bass may not be able to get to my frog cleanly enough to choke it down. What do you think?

Bass movement
One of the pros just caught a tagged fish approximately 15 miles away from where it was the last time it was caught.I want to say it was on St. Clair.

Baitcaster recommendations
You wont go wrong with the Mojo or the Daiwa Tatula rod.Throw a 7.3:1 Tatula CT on either one and you're golden. Both setups will run you 270-300$ depending on what you spool the reel with

Fluorocarbon for frogs?
50-65 braid all day. Fish wraps you around a bush or log covered in 4 pounds of weeds with flouro and there goes your fish.

Hollowbody frog.. what am I doing wrong?
Your reel is fine.I use an 8.1:1 as well. Some lures are harder to walk then others. With the Pad Crasher i use a semi slack line and very light tugs to walk it. When setting the hook it's your reaction to set when it gets hit. When your frog goes under and you feel the weight of the fish, set the hook hard straight back.

My poor lake.
Toss a frog in there. You can see your lines nicely in that stuff.

Braided line
First off, welcome to Bass Resource.Secondly what reel are you using for the application? While throwing light baits and weightless plastics can be done on casting gear, typically lighter line(10-20# braid) and a shallow spool is used. That sized braid isn't really ideal for normal baitcasters as you greatly increase your chances of line dig and backlashes, especially in windy conditions..Not all of us,but a good majority would use spinning gear for this.

New combo suggestions... Please!!!
Throw a 7.3:1 Tatula CT on a 7' MM Falcon Bucoo.
