Never been in a GM but DSG is pretty bad here.The Cabelas here is probably the size of the fishing section at BPS 10 minutes from my house.

I don't know if it's just the one out here (Massachusetts) but now that I've been in a few times I can say that I don't care for it.The fishing section is terrible.There is no rhyme or reason to the disheveled mess of rods.The lure selection is mediocre at best.They do have a decent selection of reels though.How are the Cabelas in your local areas?

Just went in Cabelas to check these out.I didn't realize it was a 2 piece.It felt heavy and I just didn't like how it felt in my hands.

They were showing accidents out there last night.They flexed the game to 8:30.You never see that.

Cranking is where it all started for me.The dam I used to fish was full of crappie.I used to catch one after the other all day long on a small KVD sexy shad pattern.Then one day I was fishing the weed line and hooked up with my first LMB.I was shaking I was so excited.Now I'm a bass fishing junkie because of that.I still shake a hoot when I hook into a big one.Ponds and lakes seem to be full of weeds by fall and cranking becomes quite difficult.The major drought last year may have made it much worse than it should have been.

I have 30 on mine.the 70/71 is made for lighter line/lures

I didn't realize the 30 was that light.I'm going to have to check that out.

So are your saying you backlash when switching from a 1/2 oz frog to a 1/2 oz jig or are you backlashing going from a 5/8 oz frog to a 1/4 oz jig?

I'm saying try 50#.Some reels are made for lighter line,some aren't.Also like others said make sure that line is spooled tight.
