  1. Braid is really good in a lot of situations but if you aren't used to using it, then you might run into some problems, like knot tying and backlashes.
  2. Roboworms, pit bosses, rage craws.
  3. I like leave room for the head on craw style baits (estimate head size based on length of lure), use a 3/0 on stick baits, and a 3/0 or 4/0 on everything else.
  4. First dude kind of impressed me, considering he can actual get his foot to his head that easily. Second dude is an idiot.

Big Z is actually where I got my two biggest bass of the season. I have yet to try Carter Lake and only went to Wanahoo once this year, which is probably why my pb is still in the low 3's (sadly). Did you mean Prairie View? Prairie Queen is south, by Walnut Creek.

Just realized I never formally introduced myself! Hello from a small fish catcher in NE! Lemme know if you know anything about good spots in East Nebraska or West Iowa.
  7. 1. Paternal grandfather 2. I don't know 3. Just because a bait looks good, doesn't mean it catches fish.
  8. It depends who I am with and how long I am on the water. Usually an orange or two, water, and maybe an apple if its just for a little bit. If its in the morning, then add a granola bar or two to that list. If its all day, then a PB&J will help with lunch and maybe a rootbeer.
  9. Just buy a bunch of Shishamos and use all the bearings for toasters. BOOM toaster business, smoothest toaster ever to be created.
  10. BANANA??? Do you ever even catch fish?
  11. The next shishamo's space time continuum is supposed to be able to slide out so you can store all your tackle inside the reel. You can even put your rod in and then stick the shishamo in your pocket.
  12. You will have to put that under some testing. It looks pretty good although water resistance while moving your jig might change the pit bosses positioning.
  13. Don't use a trailer on those. The skirt of the body and the spinner will give it enough action. If it really bothers you or you don't like the empty hook on the inside just put a craw without claws on it and it will have a little more of a body. Maybe try trailers that have the appendages off to the side too.
  14. How much would you say this setup cost? I'm trying to decide between getting a kayak or a little jon boat like this.
  15. Black and Blue is my personal favorite, although anything with black will give a good shadow for the fish to see and give you a greater chance of getting bit.
  16. Well, inside the reel is a mini space-time continuum which is how they fit so many ball bearings in just one reel.
  17. Ned Rigs Orange and Green Pumpkin with 1/15th shroom heads. KVD 1.5 squarebill bluegill. Split ring pliers. Drop shot sinkers for jika rig.
  18. Sorry didn't mean to triple post. It just happened and when I saw that it did, I wished for Chuck Norris to roundhouse my face.
  19. They say that when the Shishamo is turned, you can't feel a thing. It is so smooth with its 18 ball bearing that you have to hold a second spool in your hand, because you will cast off every inch of line on its actual spool. They say that Chuck Norris came across the Shishamo, and the Shishamo casted him. Michael Jackson and the Shishamo had a dance off and when Smooth Criminal came on, Michael Jackson was kicked out. Nothing compares to the mother of all reels, the greatest fishing reel of all time. ALL HAIL SHISHAMO!
  20. Thanks for the info! I will look into John Murray. Do you know if Pleasant has a smallmouth population?
  21. Sometimes, finding the lakes that people don't fish are much better than the ones most people fish. I think ugly stiks are okay but really aren't sensitive. If you get an ugly stik, then make sure you use braid (probably 30#). The lures you should first pick up are Pit Boss's (black and blue if you have murky water, green pumpkin if you have clear water), Gary Yamamoto Senko's, a popper, a buzzbait, and a crankbait. For throwing senko's and Pit Boss's, get some 4/0 EWG hooks and some 1/4 oz lead texas rigged weights.
  22. Will do. If you see any more information on this area let me know. It doesn't seem like there is a lot of info, despite how big Phoenix is.
  23. In March, I am coming down to Scottsdale and am wondering where the best place within an hour drive to catch fish is. I might bring one spinning rod but will most likely use a guide for half a day on one of the lakes. I would like to break my PB largemouth (its around 3 lbs so it shouldn't be too hard) and perhaps catch my first striped or smallmouth bass. Any recommendations for lakes? I have been looking at Pleasant, Saguaro, and Bartlett. Let me know if there are any good guides that you know of too.
  24. Thanks all! I was going to get the Ascend FS12T but it doesn't seem as though BPS is selling it at the moment, judging from what I see online. I also looked at the Pescador Pro but it doesn't seem as stable as I would like. The majority of lakes in my area aren't large so I don't really care about speed, I just want enough stability to be able to stand without and issue. Does anybody know anything about Pelican? I've looked at their Premium Enforcer 120x Angler and their Strike 120x Angler.
  25. I'm on the hunt for my first fishing kayak. I'm probably only going to be fishing on medium sized lakes and want a sit-on top. I don't want to spend more than $650. Any recommendations?
