Fall 2017 Purchase
I've heard that Dobyns are more sensitive than the St. Croix's at the similar price range. However, the Dobyns Champion XP Split Grip is just a bit over what I can/want to spend. Do you prefer the Sierra over the Savvy, for bottom baits? I know that you are kind of the Dobyns/Daiwa guy having seen many previous posts.

Fall 2017 Purchase
1. Is the Stile worth the cost? It's quite further from my budget but the perks on it make it seem pretty awesome. I was also reading about the Grappler (which can be found for around $100 on ebay) and its the cheapest ci4 reel out there, to my knowledge. 2. Some friend were telling me that the Avid's are St. Croix's worst rod, because its the same blank as the new Mojo's, just a little lighter. 3. Do the Chronarch MGL's have digital control? The ci4's never said they had it but there is DC in my friends chronarch.

Fall 2017 Purchase
Which of these combo's would you purchase for bottom contact baits (I fish all bottom baits with a MH fast) I have a budget of around $400 dollars, although more money saved is awesome. I also highly prefer split grip rods over regular grip because I feel like its more sensitive. I like Shimano and would be willing to try Daiwa, Abu, and fishing *13* 1. Dobyns Sierra +Chronarch ci4+ 2. Dobyns Savvy Micro Guide + Chronarch ci4+ 3. Dobyns Champion XP Split Grip + Tatula CT/Curado/In-cep-tion 4. St. Croix Avid X + Type R/Curado I 5. St. Croix Avid + Type R/Curado I 6. St. Croix Mojo Bass (new SCIII graphite one) + Shimano Chronarch MGL One more question... Has anyone tried the Shimano Stile or the Shimano Grappler reels? Are there any other reels I should look at that are order-able from Japan?

Ned rig for kids
As a kid, all I ever used were the eagle claw spinner snells weightless with either a powerbait grub or a piece of worm. You can't cast them very far but you catch SO many fish. I've caught catfish, bass, drum, crappie, perch, bluegill, trout, all big and small. They are literally perfect for children. I still have 1 or 2 that if I am going to be targeting panfish, will bring with me.

Spinnerbait/Chatterbait box
How well did that cd holder work? I only have three spinnerbaits and they take up two rows in my 3 plano's. I'm trying to find something pretty small that I can put five or six spinnerbaits into and throw in a pocket.

Anybody Ever Get Caught Without Their License?
Nope. Always have my license, never seen a warden though However, my mom has always told me about one of her college friends. The guy wanted to go fishing but he hadn't gotten his license yet that year. He went out for just an hour and got caught, receiving a $375 dollar fine! A few years later, he went to a job interview and they told him that was the deciding factor on them NOT hiring him. Of course, the dude did move to Kansas, started a business, and is now a millionaire; but its crazy that he couldn't get a job because of a fishing fine!

Goliath Gator!
Alligators would kind of scare me but American Crocodiles are super cool. I am going to Costa Rica pretty soon and hope to see a bunch!

The Ned Rig Resource
I believe in this now after avoiding the skunk with four largemouth and one rainbow trout! The color I used was green pumpkin orange on a 1/16th and I had to pause it a few times instead of keeping it just off the bottom.

Did You Land the Largest Bass You Ever Hooked?
If the monster of the Delaware was a bass, then no. Otherwise, yes!

Fishing long sleeve sun shirts
Don't forget a buff! Especially if you believe that the smell of sunscreen causes fish not to bite! I am not really a believer in that because most plastics are so strongly scented nowadays I feel like the fish wouldn't be able to smell the sunscreen.

Okoboji Bank Fishing
How well does this work? I am potentially going to Okoboji for a day this weekend and will be seeing the Muskie gill-netting they do annually. Then, I will probably be free the rest of the day to fish the bank. Does bank fishing on Okoboji work?

Couple Questions- Lure Making, Front Runner, etc.
Have you used Avids and Avid X's? It seems that the general opinion on BR is that the Avid X is more sensitive although if you have a contrasting opinion or homologous opinion I would like to know.

Couple Questions- Lure Making, Front Runner, etc.
Are you just talking T-Rigged?

Couple Questions- Lure Making, Front Runner, etc.
(1.) Have any of you ever used a front runner before? Are the effective? Worth ordering online? (Look up War Eagle Front Runner if you haven't heard of this before. (2.) Have any of you created lures before? I have ideas for lures similar to frogs, and a few others. How do I go about submitting these to a company? Do I need prototypes before sending them in or just drawings/specifications? These aren't lures I can test by carving from wood and I don't know how to make a hollow body frog. (3.) Is the St. Croix Avid X the most sensitive rod for about $200 dollars? I would be using it for almost all bottom contact baits (T-Rigs, Jigs, etc.). I don't really care about weight of the rod but I absolutely hate awkward or whippy rods. (4.) What are the best lures to fish in rip rap, snag-wise? I lose too many lures in rip rap and was hoping there are some better options that won't snag very much. Thank you for dealing with all these questions and I ask that you answer as many as you can. Even if the question's already answered, I would like more opinions on it.

Everyone's PB
Believe it or not, I caught two of similar size twice in one day. They were the only fish we caught and I don't know which was bigger, only that they were about 3 pounds.

Favourite Texas rigged soft plastic
Pit Boss or Rage Craw

Heaviest bass of the board
Something Weakley caught that 25 pounder named Dolly there but he released it since it was accidentally snagged. Its highest official weight was a few years before that at 21.7 pounds and when it died a few years after being 25 pounds, it weighed 19 pounds. So he must have caught it at the perfect time if it truly weighed 25.

Shades of polorized lenses
How do you know if they are polarized? A lot of sunglasses I've looked at in store lately haven't said if they are or not.

First cast = fish; bad luck?
That has happened to me more than enough and I've learned to never stay at a spot too long unless I keep catching them. I was shown an example of this when my friend caught one little fish in a pocket and he wouldn't move because he believed it had to be stacked. No fish until a few hours later.
