Finding the Right Rod
So as I look through the refurbished dobyns rods, I see a lot of 702S rods, some with Micro guides, some without. Is a ML too light for these applications? I have always thought that my MH spinning rod felt too stiff when fishing finesse lures, which is why I am looking for a lighter rod.

Finding the Right Rod
In the near future, I will be making a trip up North to fish for Smallmouth, Walleye, Muskie, and other smaller species. I already have my rod choice for most of these fish picked out, my topwater rod can double for muskie/pike and my UL covers the perch and big bluegill. I can use my bass rods to cover smallmouth. However, I have been looking to replace my spinning rod that I use for finesse techniques with a new, better rod. It would be awesome if I could double this to cover walleye techniques such as Jig'n raps. Would a Medium rod like the St Croix Eyecon be the correct selection? Other suggestions? Should I avoid the Walleye specific rods and get a Dobyns Fury? This rod would mainly be used for Senko, Ned Rig, Drop Shot and other finesse techniques year round.

Tatula SV TW........opinions?
I love mine! The other day, my friend wanted to try his own type of texas rig so he found the lightest senko style plastic I have ever seen and put it on. It felt like nothing when weighed in my hand and was the same length as the 3/0 hook he put it on. Weightless, it still casted about 20 feet which shocked me. Casts anything beautifully.

My 3 yr old son with a Toad
I've been hardcore fishing for over 3 years. Your son has been on the planet for 3 years. So explain why his PB is bigger than mine!

I am almost on board..........almost
Don't start your Texas Rig experience with Ribbon tails. I have had 10x more experience fishing with craws over T-Rigged worms. A small ribbontail didn't get a nibble yesterday but they were hammering D-Bombs. The best part is if you lose patience for a bit, with baits like Pit Boss's and Rage Craws, you can swim them and they'll have quite a bit of action. I have caught a good amount of fish this way and its even saved me from being skunked.

I'm pretty sure that someone told me if you contact Mr. Yamamoto that you can get him to send you a bulk amount of Senko's.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
Got my Tatula SV TWS a week ago. I've used it a few times this week and will post a review soon. I highly recommend it at the price. Casts beautifully.

Easiest lure for a 5 year old to cast out and retrieve?
Totally agree on the inline spinner. That was my favorite lure from age 8 to 15. I really enjoyed using the Eagle Claw two way spinner (and still do) with a little plastic grub or piece of nightcrawler on the hook. This has caught me rainbows, bullhead, bass, bluegill, brown trout, channel catfish, drum. Beat worm under a bobber every time plus I was able to constantly cast and reel instead of wait. Highly Recommended These were my greatest multi-species and numbers lures as a kid.

Do those camo marks work better than just coloring the last few feet all black?

I think I am going to go with the Tat SV since I can't find a cheap right hand MGL.

I am the opposite. I have used my friends Ci4 but never used a shimano. But the Tatula SV TW is quite a bit cheaper.

Sweet. I have to decide between SV103, Chronarch MGL, and Tatula SV TWS. Any opinion? It would be used for T-Rigs, Jigs, and other bottom lures. 30# braid with mono/fluoro leader. Edit: SV103 is out

If I input the code but don't actually order it, will I still be able to use it? Thinking about either a Tatula SV or something else.

Australian traveling the USA who wants to catch a bass
Eat tons of tacos and burritos. I have a feeling those aren't too present in Australia.
