  1. I will be awhile before i can get a pic, but basically the "neck" of the jig fits right into the slot same as a spinnerbait. The blade and Jig head on one side, the hook and trailer (if attached) on the other. Dug
  2. I use the Plano FTO style spinnerbait 3700 box for my chatterbait style lures and it works great. Dug

  4. Yo-Zuri Hardcore Drum. Specifically in Painted Shad. hands down the best lipless crank I have ever used, which must be why Yozuri discontinued them. Dug

  6. Ii was just looking at these and was kinda shocked at the price. 9.99 on Picasso Lures website, and 7.99 at TW. Having said that, I really like a patented option to the Chatterbait! I guess I am going to have to try them. Any feedback on their performance? Dug
  7. These first came out about 10 years ago and were called a wiggle rig. I think, like Crestliner says, they are another tool to use. I like them, I use them drop shotting for bass, and use them for blue gills and crappie. They can move very erratically or you can get them to move subtly when there is no current. If you try them, instead of wiggling your rod, try tapping or slapping the rod handle while you hold the line tight, it gives that lure a subtler movement than trying to wiggle the tip. I have to disagree with A-Jay, they work for me, and I have used them to out fish the guy standing next to me, and they are not worthless..... however not every time and not in every situation. Dug
  8. I gotta vote for Megastrike as well, original or Craw. Dug

  10. Looks an awful lot like a popcycle tray. Dug
  11. I had an 8lbr just 2 inches away from my fingers (based on the size of her it's an estimate) I reached down to lip her, and she shook off my crankbait. I know your pain, the next nice fish will ease it some, but the memory will remain. enjoy it and go back and try and catch it again! Dug
  12. For a good starter based on Pan fishing and the territory you may have to fish in, the Ugly StikGX2 6' 2-piece medium action spinning rod is a nice rod for the price. Nothing an gear enthusiast would use to be sure, but still a nice little rod with some decent sensitivity and a good backbone. Buy it in a combo and it will get you fishing for about 50 bucks. or add 6 inches and buy the 6'6" combo for under $40. This is the Combo I have purchased for my kids and grandkids and it's a great general use setup. I have even put down my several hundreds of dollars rod/reel rigs to use it and it's just fine for what you want to do. If you want to go with a lighter setup the same combo is available in a 5'0" ($47) Light or a 4'8" ($39) ultralight combo. (these are all Wally world priced). Better yet, find a mom&pop bait store and ask them to guide you, that way you build a relationship and help keep them in business. Hope this helps. Dug
  13. Welcome back. That suicide Duck looks awesome, it's on my shopping list for sure. Dug
  14. Daiwa, Because I prefer the breaking systems, I have a lot of spare parts on hand and because of the Pixy. Dug
  15. I fish spinning lures with a Popeo Pocket Fisherman i keep in the car for when I drive by water than looks just too good to pass up. It works. Not great, but it works. Dug
  16. I have the first version of this reel and for the money it's an excellent reel, good for light lures to 1/8 oz. dug
  17. This is interesting to me, I though Z Man shut down KaRu a long time ago. Love these Swim blades. Best made in my opinion. Interesting to note that When KaRu first starting making them one of his best clients was nicknamed Fogy and he created a color scheme for him, which is where the Fogy name on Siebert's version comes from (I am guessing) I see the Fogy Green is still available on KaRu. The Blue Shimmer Cotton Candy with a Kalin Blue Pearl or Cotton Candy Lunker Grub was a blast to fish. Bass hit that so hard. Another one was a shortened Culprit worm in Tomato. Good luck, great lures! dug
  18. Hi All, been fishing since I was about 6 years old, that makes me a 51 year fishing vet. Fished everywhere from the Ice in Wisconsin to the tropics of Guam and Australia (21 years in the US Navy) My passion is Black and Smallmouth Bass though. I am a victim of the bait monkey and have a tackle shop in my Garage. Doug
  19. I have the Okuma Guide Select 7'11" H and it's plenty for most of the hudd 8" swimbaits. it's rated 1-6 OZ and the Hudd swimbaits are less that 5OZ. I recommend it, and it's not badly priced either at just over $120.00 Dug
