Line for deep diving cranks, 3/8-1/2oz jigs, spinnerbaits and chatterbaits
I use Seagaur invisx or tatsu at 15 for all of those but shallow crankbaits and jerkbaits, which get 10. Top water gets 15 pound Seagaur rippin for mono. I used to use senshi.

Listening to music while fishing
Typically listen to a wide variety of country and classic rock. Not loud, just a bit of backgorund music.

Help me round out my Jerkbait arsenal
Vision 110 in GP blue and GP pro blue 2, sexy shad, ozark, and I could go on. I primarily us pro blue. Also when we are in Minnesota the pike love them so I switch to rick clunns so I don't destroy megabass. They are a decent substitute.

No leader with braid
Yes I heard this is true. I must be getting blind fish.

Should I use backing on my spinning reel
I always back with mono. Every time I don't, the braid ends up coming loose on the spool. Never again.

Dock skipping rod?
I skip with either - 6'8" IMx spinning rod paired with p line braid and shimano stradic fk, or a curado 70 on a 6'6" IMx with 15lb tatsu.
-
Pitching reel..
Curado 70. That is my setup.

Chronarch Ci4+ vs. Metanium MGL
This. I have the CI 4 and they are great reels. I am sure the MGL is better, but you could have 2 CI4s for that price. Your money, spend it on what you want.

Shimano worries
I have had probably 20 shimano over the years. Never had any issues. I currently have/use curadoI's, Chronarch Ci4,s and curado 70. All have been flawless. I have heard good things about daiwa and Lew's, but have no reason to change as I am happy with shimano. Also the newer lower regular price of the curado 200 makes it a no brainer. To each his own

Covering Bases on a Budget
6-6 would be my choice for an all around rod.

Top Spring Lures
Jerkbait. Vision 110
-
Best reel you have used?
Curado 70.

Topwater Rod ?
I agree. I don't like rods over 7 foot in general but for top water, I use a 6-10 duckett white ice for buzzbaits and a 6-6 or 7 foot IMX MBR for spooks and poppers.

chatterbait rod
I throw chatterbait son a duckett white ice terry scroggins. I love that rod for buzzbaits too. Occasionally I throw the chatter on the IMX spinnerbait rod. Depends on what baits I am throwing that day.

If you could only bring one lure to bring fishing with you, What are you bringing?
This time of year. Vision 110 jerkbait.

Finally tested the Curado 70
I love the reel so far. I have the brakes turned up as I upgraded to boca bearings

Upgrading Reels
I swap out the bearings in all my shimano with ceramic boca bearings. Great upgrade. My friend and I bought in bulk so we got them half price, I think around 15 a set rather than 30. Also consider just upgrading the line. It can make the reel perform better with really good line.

St Croix vs G Loomis
I have the 803s for a spinning rod. It is the most sensitive rod I own paired with braid. Great rod, but because it is only 6'8" it is pretty stiff. Depends on what you are using it for. I use a medium action spinning rod for drop shots.
-
St Croix vs G Loomis
I have always pitched with a medium heavy, but I mainly pitch and flip docks. In heavy cover you might need heavy, but it depends on if you plan on using this rod for other techniques. In my opinion, MH or 3 power is more versatile. Like I said 783c or 843c are my recommendations depending on your preference in length.

Drop Shot Combo
My drop shot rig is a stradic fk and a red shimano Cumara(drop shot specific rod). I don't think they make those anymore so I would probably recommends and IMX with the stradic as that is what I use for shakey heads. IMx comes in several actions.

St Croix vs G Loomis
I have several IMX rods and love them. The 6'6" 783c is my favorite and the 843c 7ft MBR rod is close behind. I love the 803c worm rod and I have the spinnerbait rod as well. The Carolina rig version is not my favorite compared to the others. These rods do not disappoint and are super light and sensitive. I would get one of the MBR rods as they are very versatile(783 or 843) depending on your preference in length.

Curado I noisy retrieve(video added)
If you need to change bearings upgrade to the Boca ceramic bearings. I have done this on all my reels. Amazing!
