Caught my PB yesterday. How much do you think it weighs?
I personally hate to see any animal tortured or starved or such like......but, I'm no animal "lover". What about the fish that you have fouled hooked? What about the ones that have ate your plastic bait that came off in the water and then slowly died? What about ones that peoples boat prop injured? What about the ones that suffer from pollution? What about the ones that swallow your lue? Unfortunately we hurt fish all the time and yes we need to be careful but the fish are there for our enjoyment so if some guy gets excited about his PB and lays the fish down for a sec to snap a pic there's no need to tell him it's going suffer a slow painful death. Whole fisheries have nearly been starved to death due to natural causes such as drought. If the fish died, (which it probably didn't) so what. The guy next to him may catch one and filet him alive to eat.

Yes. A slow, painful, agonizing, heart wrenching, excruciating, merciless, unbearable death. 5 seconds on the dirt makes medieval torture methods seem like a walk in the park. Come on really?? I'm sure it's not good but give me a break. It's a stupid fish that touched the ground for like 5 seconds. Does it hurt the fish? I'm sure probably does. Does any fish ever die from it? Probably. Is it good to lay them down? No. Are we taking the whole thing a little overboard? Absolutely.

Help me choose my crankin rod
I'm definitely checking into the Dobyns. I actually like my BuCoo pretty good. I have fished 2.0 square bills and lipless cranks a few times with it and have caught 25+ fish on it and have lost very few fish with it, it seems to keep them pinned. 2 of those fish were over 5 lbs. But something with a little more backbone may would be nice as long as it kept them pinned.

Help me choose my crankin rod
It certainly has good reviews. It is rated as a MH power, MF action right? Will that be as good as a MM for treble hooks? Is it as light and sensitive as the others mentioned you think? They are definitely cheaper but if it is half as good in terms of sensitivity and quality I may pass....

Hi all, new here!
- Your favorite fishing photo?
Yes sir it was an awesome experience! I had never caught anything close to that big and I knew from the raw power she was big, it being night made it all the more mysterious and exhilarating!- Your favorite fishing photo?
My 23 1/2" 6 pounder. I've caught a 7 lb but I don't have any goods pics since it was at night and I was by myself.- Help me choose my crankin rod
I'm wanting a nice sensitive rod that won't break the bank, I'm thinking the $100 mark will get me something nice. I will use this rod primarily for shallow and medium depth crankbaits and lipless crankbaits. I may use it for topwater treble baits and jerkbaits but that will be 2nd to crankbaits. Currently I am looking at the Ducket Ghost 7' M crankin rod, and a falcon BuCoo micro guide 7' MM. I felt both of these rods the other day at BPS and although I liked both I could tell their action was a little different from each other. I own a falcon BuCoo micro guide 7' M spinning rod that is supposed to be for shaky heads and similar presentations but I find myself cranking with it since I don't have a baitcaster crankbait setup and I definitely like the rod but I'm ready for a designated cranking casting rod. What do yall think of these rods? Which would you choose? Is there a better option for the same price? Both rods were comfortable and light, what's your thoughts?- Caught my PB yesterday. Give me a break, just because someone snaps a few pics does NOT mean that fish kicks the bucket. I agree with proper fish handling, but when someone has no problem with ramming a heavy wire 5/0 hook into a fishes mouth and then makes the fish fight for his life until they jerk the fish out by its lip but then say 4 pics killed the fish it's like really???- Caught my PB yesterday. How much do you think it weighs?
This fish is 21 1/2" long, 14 1/2" girth and she weighed 5 lbs 4oz. So if your fish was 2" shorter and is no bigger in the gut , it's less than 5 lbs. I'd guess 3 3/4 to 4 1/4. Nice fish however you look at it.- New Rookie
6 lbs or more. Judging from a few that I have recently caught and measured and weighed.- Latest Catch Pics Thread

- Do you kiss your fish?????
Never kissed one.....but I think the big girls like to hear how good they look....- Any Lures with a Perfect Record?
I can only think of 1 or 2 times the last year that a T rigged senko didn't produce and one of those times was during my lunch hour at a small lake.- You know you're a master angler when...
Can't tell if that's a piece of slime or a tiny, tiny fish. If it's a fish you win no doubt....- I love topwater!
Awesome story and nice catch! Was you using a trailer or trailer hook?- big plastics for big bass in deep water
Not sure what that has to do with the question.- You know you're a master angler when...
I had a similar experience the other day! This 4 incher tried to eat my 5" senko! What's so funny is that when I pulled him out of the water all he had a hold of was the tail! The hook was still buried up in the top of the senko.....- Not all giant bass are smart
Hey @Catt....hope I'm not being to nosey here, but of the 34 DD bass you caught in summer how many of those were caught at night? If you don't mind me asking.- Skipping with a baitcaster.
- Do fish get educated to a certain bait?
Short term memory/conditioning?- Can't get hookset on senko!?
Yes I use a baitcaster, BUT I slide a 1/16 oz bullet weight on the line and let it free slide (not pegged). I can cast plenty far with that setup unless we are talking high winds. Everyone has their own opinions on it and thats fine but that's what works for me. Caught my PB last week with that exact setup.- Can't get hookset on senko!?
4/0 is the biggest hook I'll use for a 5" senko. 3/0 EWG is a good hook to use. Also I use a MH/F rod. I don't miss many bass with that setup unless I have little fish nipping it.- a little night fishing last night here in Maryland
Awesome catch! Out of curiosity did you get a weight on the big girl? My night fishing 22" bass I caught last week weighed 7 lbs 4oz so I was wondering how the 2 would match up with them being over 1,700 miles apart. The coloration is for sure different. - Your favorite fishing photo?
