The first impression I had after wading through all the spandex and running shoes to get to the fishing and firearms section was the prices were high, no help, and the selection left a lot to be desired. Fast forward 18 years they are closing. I went back maybe 5 times and my impression didn't change. We have 2 good independent gun and fishing stores that put Dick's to shame. Knowledgeable help great selection and as far as prices they are so close to TW it isn't funny shipping cost are more than the cost of gas. Then the CEO runes his mouth and alienates a good part of his customer base. They are getting what they asked for.

I have that combo in M/f for two years now and I can tell you it is a good combo. The problem is the way they are shipped and handled by the store help and costumers. When I retired I worked at a certain discount store part time for a few mouths. Within a week I learned never buy a fishing rod from a store that you cant find the help in sporting goods.
