  1. I was just gonna say the same thing! If you search, they actually have 90’s and 110’s as well for $9.99
  2. I used to have a sun dolphin excursion 10ss. While it was a cheap kayak, it was great to get started with. However, I quickly learned that I’d want to try a sit on top. A friend of mine gave me an offer on it that I couldn’t refuse, so I sold it and then got a great deal on a Ascend 10T for the same price I sold my sun dolphin for. Was able to upgrade for nothing! Anyway, I haven’t got it on the water yet, but I can already tell some pros and cons. pros: -tons of space -seat seems to be a huge upgrade -gear tracks -nice handles on the sides and bow and stern cons: -20lbs heavier than my previous one -more difficult to car top -seems like it’ll be slower but I wouldn’t know for sure! Thought I should add: I’m 5’10” and 145, so pretty light!
  3. Gotcha. Which one would be the most comparable to the zx jig and worm? I see they only have one in an extra fast action, but prefer 7-1 to 7-3 maybe
  4. Is it worth an extra $20 over a tournament zx when they were on sale for $80? I have a zx, and got another $25 gift cards, wondering if it’s worth it!
  5. I’m pretty new to bass fishing and there’s a few things that I have learned that have definitely helped me: 1. Slow down, relax, it’s okay if you don’t hammer em every time out! Fishing is a learning experience, and put that knowledge to use! 2. Sometimes being happy with catching numbers is better than just one big fish, but to each their own! 3. Take advice, ask for help 4. Try new things! You never know if you’ll find a technique that works well And very possibly the most important: 5. Be responsible, respectful, and courteous to everyone and everything on, in, and around our waterways. Lead a good example and others may very well follow suit. Pick up trash and keep the waterways in good shape so everyone can enjoy them!
  6. A ton of people on here recommend a cavitron! I had one gifted to me and it’s by far my favorite, although all I have to compare to are cheapie ones. Cavitron is the way to go, and I’d venture to say that many will agree
  7. Did anyone ever get any updates other than the eBay warning for the Diawa Tatula CT type r for $35?
  8. Ouch. Looks like green pumpkin is the way to go after reading through this thread! When Overtons had the $25 off $25 (pretty much free stuff) deal I picked up a few chatterbaits that were in stock, which was only chartreuse 1/4 and 3/8. First chatterbaits I’m going to try, and no way to get a different color or switch em out! Hopefully they work
  9. Wow, too bad there’s not one of those here in WI. In college and don’t have a lot of gear, but wanna try some new things!
  10. I agree to most above. However, I think music in a video works best for three things: intro, transitions, and outro!
  11. I’m in the same predicament. I submitted 4$ of baits for $10 back a couple weeks ago. I guess we will see! It doesn’t say anywhere on the rebate about purchase price, so they shouldn’t be able to deny it. I’d just make sure you’ve got everything documented just in case they say “ohh, well sorry you didn’t have everything in the envelope”. Which they do!
  12. Most lakes I use a 5”, however, there’s one small lake that the fish are rarely over 12”, I use a 4” there. I think it may depend a little more on fish size as it’s easier to get a smaller one in their mouths.
  13. I actually have a couple gift cards to use, otherwise I would’ve probably gotten the $100 for $80 on eBay card. Thanks for the recommendation though! Hopefully they send something out or run a 10% off sale between now and Monday
  14. Just a heads up everyone. Looks like there’s a chance to score on the powerbait rebate again. I see that DSG has their specific one that they had last year! Let’s hope they run a 4 for $10 sale again!
  15. Looking at picking up a Cabelas rod in the next week to pair with a reel I received, probably next weekend. Does anyone happen to have a coupon code or Cabelas bucks code that they won’t be using? If it happens to be for a larger purchase price, I could find a family member to get stuff with me to use it. Hoping to save a little extra it’d be very much so appreciated if you don’t have a use for it, thanks!
  16. Most definitely! I myself can’t afford much at all, so I usually just drool when going through this thread haha! Maybe someday I can build up a little more inventory and try new techniques. Until then, I make due with what I’ve got and just enjoy being on the water. Anyway, I saw that DSG has the brown craw colored 1/2oz Storm rockin shad lipless for $2.97 if anyone uses em!
  17. Holy smokes that’s a good deal! At the three I’ve stopped at here in WI recently only had a couple things with little to no discount. Other than I snagged some (4 packs)of 7” black (I know it’s not a great color, but what the heck, why not!) Powerworms for $1 each, and after contacting Berkely, they are eligible for the rebate. So, I paid a touch over $4 and am getting $10 back! I might keep a pack or two and will pass the others along to someone that can use them. I don’t have barely any gear myself, but I try to forward as much as I can back on to someone else when in situations like this where it doesn’t cost me anything, as I can’t afford to do it outright. You guys on this site have been extensively generous in information and helping out other anglers including me, so I want to try to pass that along as much as I can!
  18. I started myself a little over a year ago, and I’m still trying new things. However, I have found that a few $1 Walmart spinnerbaits and buzz baits paired with a Texas rigged Yum dinger (I use them weightless) work very well and are affordable. It helps as well that they are very economical for when I pike decides to bite them off too! For me, it’s a give and take. Maybe I’ll catch 4 Fish with these rather than 5 with a 7-8$ spinnerbait. But, I wouldn’t be able to stay on the water too long losing those! (I’ve lost three in one outing to big pike/musky, and $3 is a lot easier to swallow than $25!)
  19. And they don’t even have a basspro up here!
  20. Agreed. Hopefully they do the 4 for $10 deal again as well. Missed out on most of it last spring, but will be watching this year!
  21. Oops! I didn’t see that
  22. Wow, that looks like it costs a little more than the table they are sitting on haha!
  23. Just a heads up, you can do the $10 back on four bags for that powerbait now! Actually looks like you can submit it online this year instead of mailing it in
  24. That Quantum rod definitely looks intriguing, I’ll check into it! Also, I originally was thinking of the Cabelas tournament ZX before I set my budget because I have read that they are very nice rods for the money. Even better if you can catch them on sale for $69. Maybe they will go on sale for that price sometime this spring and I can ****** one up! Hopefully they would sooner rather than later before late March and April so it wouldn’t be too late. Maybe their spring fishing sale? Thank you! So far all is well, and in a couple years I’ll be working with our water resources. My passion is with water, and you need good water quality to support the wonderful fisheries out there, so that’s exactly where I want to be, on the forefront of keeping our water clean and unpolluted so we all can enjoy it! Good luck to you too!
  25. I will give it a try as soon as I can get a rod, can’t thank you enough!! Now to find a rod!
