  1. I have a 2002 Tacoma extended cab with a short bed and i've hauled my 11 footer hundreds of times with no issues.
  2. Have 6 Energy spining models and would not trade them for anything else
  3. Spinning - 20 ib braid or 8 lb florocarbon Casting - 12 to 14 lb florocarbon or copolymer
  4. This one has saved many a bass for me https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/bass-pro-shops-squeeze-out-hook-remover?hvarAID=shopping_googleproductextensions
  5. Yep, they work as good as anything else i've used. You get a lifetime supply for around 6 bucks.
  6. Here in VA it's a great river bait for both brown & green bass. Use a light and let the current do the work.
  7. Another option is copolymer. It's cheap, strong, and abrasion resistant.
  8. 4 or 5 inch senkos, smaller tubes, twisty tail grubs, small swin baits
  9. I have a Tarpon 100 and a Preception Precador Pro 10 and I love them both. I fish mostly rivers and small lakes (electricc motors only allowed). In ten years I've never flipped one and the weight you mention is a plus for me with knee issues. Just a FYI I don't care about standing up in the kayak I do just as well setting.
  10. Size 40 is also ok but I think it's just personal preference spool size vs. weight.
  11. 30 is a great all around size for green/brown bass and most anything else that swims in fresh water. You made a good choice enjoy it.
  12. Well i fished the shenandoah this morning and had no luck either. Maybe just a bad day.
  13. Agree on the 7ft medium heavy for Fat Ikas. Spectacular river bait in the summer and fall for both large & smallie mouth bass.
  14. Reels - Quantum & Pflueger Rods - whatever feels good usually in the $100-$140 range
  15. Use 30 ib braid on my spinning reel for top waters like the Whopper Plopper.
  16. My experience is that it's harder on the Musky than the rod. Having to play the fish longer seems to put a lot more stress on it and i've always had to spend more time reviving them.
  17. Tried it once and i'll never use it again. kinks, breaks you name it. Seargar Invizx gets my vote.
  18. I think i depends on the type of reel you are spooling it on. On a spinning reel i'm partial to Invizx as long as you keep it under 12 lb test. On my baitcasters I don't see a lot of difference.
  19. I own two of their previous XML models and if the new models are anything like the old they will be great rods. I also own one of their Fish Eagle models and it's a very nice rod also. I don't see how you can go wrong.
  20. Thanks guys. I think i might go with the Bending Branches Adjustable Anglers paddle in 240-260 length. Has for paddle color it doesn't make much difference to me because I almost need fish were anything but Layaks or canoes can go.
  21. I've used AN40 copoly with good results but braid is the way to go.
  22. i'm looking for suggestions on paddle length for my prescador pro 10 kayak. It's 32" wide and i'm 5'9". With the seat in the upper position its about 3 inches off the base of the kayak. I have a 230 now and I yhink its a bit short. I'm leaning towards a 250 but any input is appreicated.
  23. I've had both for many years and I don't see any difference between them.
